R&D Associate
Summary
The role involves the responsibility for carrying out hands on product development activities on projects in one or more platforms of the Intimate Wellness R&D portfolio. To actively contribute towards the development of consumer preferred products from the concept ideation stage through to the start of full production and subsequent launch into market. As a technical project lead for R&D innovation initiatives, the role will therefore involve planning, management, and implementation of functional or project-specific work, solving technical problems, making recommendations and implementing options to ensure that milestone plans are met. The role may also involve some laboratory-based responsibilities. The role requires theoretical and practical functional expertise within one or more of the relevant key technologies, for example formulation &/or process development, and good understanding of the relevant legislation. The role may also involve line management responsibilities of an R&D assistant or R&D Associate
Job Description
- Ensure technical aspects of the assigned projects are carried out as per the agreed timings and standards, with any issues or risks clearly highlighted to line manager in a timely manner.
- Coordination of factory/Co-Packer line trials, subsequent R&D qualification testing and validation prior to launch
- Specific function / project work is likely to include: o
- Preparing lab samples for testing
- Organising and completing product stability studies
- Evaluating new raw materials o Co-ordinating raw material and supplier information
- Ensuring adequate supply of materials to keep in timelines for development activities
- Manage release of samples for consumer and clinical tests
- Keeping accurate records and communicating results
- Assisting in developing prototype formulations / products
- Supporting pilot scale-up and attending industrial trial manufacturing
- Assisting in developing new concepts and claims to contribute to the respective pipeline
- Contributing to team and continuous improvement initiatives
Job Qualification
- Education Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Chemical Engineering, Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical sciences, Cosmetic formulation.
- Experiences Relevant experience at least 3-5 years with product development within FMCG or Chemical environment. Medical device experience is an advantage.
- People management experience also advantageous.

- Good communication skills, especially English Excellent presentation, project management and influencing skills
