Senior Project Engineer - Chemical

The Fast Innovation Team is a new team responsible for delivering innovation quickly to uncharted channels (eCommerce, discounters, Home Décor isle etc.) across the Air Care portfolio, ensuring that products are meeting consumer and customer expectations, RB quality standards, safety and compliance to local legislation and can be scaled up quickly and efficiently. The team is located in Dongguan – China.

This role is for Fast Innovation Air Care is one of the key-partners responsible for creating the project framework and coordinate project launches by liaising with all key stakeholders (R&D, marketing, safety, regulatory, packaging, supply, external partners) enabling successful delivery within the required timings. Expected project turnover is in the range of 26-30 weeks maximum.

This role requires the job holder to work extensively both within and outside of the R&D organisation within a new operating model, therefore the ability to develop effective relationships while maintaining an inquisitive attitude is critical.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in a relevant technical discipline (chemistry, engineering…) with experience working in the FMCG or related industries
  • Basic knowledge on Air Fresheners structure and main challenges
  • Experience in running/coordinating R&D tasks (from research to validation and scale up)
  • Solid Project Management experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Proven track record in defining, delivering and prioritising projects and tasks
  • A solid understanding of the entire product lifecycle and of the product development process

  • Experience in Microsoft Project or equipment software-based project management tools, in Microsoft Office package (Excel, Power Point, MS Project)
  • Experience in Trackwise or any other Change Control systems would be preferred but not mandatory
  • An inquisitive attitude and aptitude to challenge current systems and ways of working
  • Flexibility to travel when required

  • Proven ability to work under pressure without compromising on deliverables
  • Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with solid planning and organisational capabilities, a bias for action, and the capability to define, evaluate and manage risks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with great interpersonal skills
  • Experience of interfacing with different stakeholders, with remote management experience preferred.
