Senior Laboratory Technician, Analytical Sciences

Description

Executes analytical testing both internally and in conjunction with third party laboratories assuring completion and accuracy of written reports to meet established deadlines.  Maintains adequate communication with Shared Innovation Support (SIS) Manager as it relates to analyses, instrumentation status, and timelines.  Effectively maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment in consultation with instrument vendors and key scientists within the Analytical Sciences (AS) team.  Effectively communicates scientific knowledge and information to technical and non-technical audiences as needed.  Maintains detailed laboratory notebook according to established requirements and SOPs.  Supports the AS department by ordering laboratory consumables, maintaining stockroom, heading capital projects, and maintaining chemical safety data sheets according to a strict chemical hygiene plan.  Support AS and Tech Center as team safety representatives as needed.

Position Requirements:
B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or other relevant science degree is required.  Experience with the following analytical assays is preferred: full amino acids profiles, molecular weight profiles, static headspace, protein, sialic acid, SDS-PAGE.  Ability to run multiple methods simultaneously is required.  Demonstrated experience with analytical instrument maintenance is required.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially related to analytical chemistry and application in method troubleshooting, is required.  Demonstrated collaborative and effective communication skills with external groups is highly preferred.  Adherence to all established safety guidelines and established SOPs is required.
