Profile Summary

The R&D Operations Manager role is to lead formulation technical development work for the RB Health and Hygiene business in South East Asia. She/He delivers specific projects designed to maintain and grow the business and provides factory technical support to ensure products are manufactured at the correct quality and cost.


Scope/Dimension Role

She/He will responsible for specific Reckitt product brands manufactured/sold in South East Asia (e.g. Dettol), as technical leader for all formulation development of those brands, and relate internally with R&D Innovations, Packaging Development, Regulatory, Safety, Technical, Quality, Supply, Procurement, Marketing, and other country R&D.



  • Build and lead a technical team to deliver excellence in R&D Operations in South East Asia. Focus significant efforts on recruitment, growth and development of his/her team..
  • Working closely with Marketing to deliver product launches successfully and on time in the region and to support business development initiatives with claims and demos, including comparisons with competitor products.
  • Working closely with Manufacturing to ensure appropriate support of the expansion of manufacturing capabilities in South East Asia and to represent R&D Operations voice and needs in the expansion of the laboratory facilities.
  • Drive the technical work on cost saving initiatives and be the R&D voice in the region for all cost saving work.
  • Working closely with R&D Innovations to support and to facilitate all globally lead activities related to Prowebrands in South East Asia.
  • Allocation of resources within the team to meet agreed project objectives, timelines and raise and resolve any projects priority conflicts.
  • Build a cohesive, motivated and professional team within a result-oriented culture, where personal responsibility, initiative, teamwork, and mutual respect are key.
  • Be responsible for the development of his/her team members to enable them to achieve their full potential inculding project management and formulation development.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all development acitiviy within the team conforms with HSE and SQRC (Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Compliance) requirements.
