The Technical Excellence team within the Global Safety Assurance (GSA) Department will proactively work alongside multidisciplinary functions to contribute to the development of safe sustainable Reckitt products throughout their lifecycle. The GSA team is purposed to drive technical capability, risk assessment and seek innovative solutions to support the safety and sustainability of Reckitt marketed products.
The Technical Strategy team is one of the areas of Technical Excellence, it is responsible for ingredient evaluation, supporting the business to choose better and more sustainable chemicals to integrate into Reckitt’s formulations and portfolio.

The Senior Associate will proactively work alongside multidisciplinary functions to provide ecotoxicological support  across Hygiene, Health & Nutrition business units, working across a multitude of product sectors, and working to various legislation such as REACH (and global equivalents) amongst others, including but not limited to legislation pertaining to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.A key part of the role will be the assessment of emerging ecotoxicology and safety trends that may impact the Reckitt products throughout their product lifecycle.  The role will involve working with dedicated technical experts responsible for conducting human risk (toxicology) and environmental safety assessments, to ensure the delivery of high-quality documentation and programmes to meet Reckitt safety requirements. To succeed within this role, you will be able to effectively predict and communicate safety issues and concerns impacting Reckitt products. This may include representation within Reckitt internal governance forums such as GSA Forum and the Ingredient Steering Group, which oversees the Reckitt Restricted Substances List, as well as external trade associations as appropriate.Follow scientific and regulatory development in the field of product safety by active participation in relevant external bodies and meetings as appropriate to pro-actively address and implement knowledge and standards.

You’ll succeed because… 
•    BSC and preferably a higher qualification in Environmental Toxicology, Ecotoxicology or related field with relevant experience.
•    Strong knowledge and understanding of ecotoxicology and it’s application in both a regulatory and scientific setting.
•    Proven experience in performing environmental safety and risk assessments for ingredients.
•    Experienced in technical leadership with proven ability to lead and motivate others.
•    Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms, good business acumen and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to analyse and interpret data and document within a formal risk assessment.
