The 3 areas of scope of this role are:
•    Business Analytics: Support ongoing eCommerce needs by the providing channel, customer and shopper analytics, category dynamics, performance and competitor data for all hygiene brands and main retailer partners. 
•    Consumer Insight: Conduct and find shopper and consumer insight analysis to identify and interpret trends and patterns that supports key business priorities from multiple sources including sales, consumer, competitor, and market trends. 
•    Platform Management: Lead the strategy and organization of our platform stack to unlock efficiencies and effective solutions for our business growth as well as organize and streamline platform adoption to minimize unnecessary complexity.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

Business Analytics Excellence 
o    Lead a team that is responsible for analysis and reporting of business performance with the focus of delivering due to’s - insights around what is driving growth and what is limiting it
o    Scope would involve Amazon 1P, Amazon 3P, B&C customers (WMT.com/ TGT.com etc)
o    Success in this would mean being able to articulate drivers of growth by connecting all the marketing levers such as search, media performance along with commercial levers such as promotions, price change etc.
o    Evaluate the macro – category and retailer trends and sharing strong recommendations on risks/ opportunities that rolls into the 1 year/ 3 year business planning
o    Develop a monthly customer and brand reporting dashboard for US business
o    Act on behalf of the eBU team with proactive data analysis as well as the key contact between the team and various insight platforms (Kantar, Numerator, CRC, CIQ, Salsify, Syndigo, etc and other eCommerce partners)

 

Consumer Insights
o    Work closely with various cross-functional insights teams to share insights, as well as, circulate key eCommerce insights throughout the organization 
o    Help identify medium and long term incremental opportunities based on ‘always on’ consumer insight.
o    Stay current on industry news and changes as well as competitive models and features, and regularly share trends with team members.
o    Build a thorough knowledge of hygiene brand and category trends through consumer, shopper research. 
o    Become the ‘go-to person’ within the team for brand and consumer insights.
o    Be able to synthesize consumer, market data into holistic conclusions supporting brand growth. Including Consumer research, Path to Purchase, and various partner research sources such as CRC, Numerator, CIQ, NielsenIQ, etc. 
o    Develop a pro-active ‘learning agenda’: identify white spaces of knowledge for team, conduct analyses and socialize the analyses with key stakeholders to drive shifts in decision making. (e.g. category trends and shopper behavior shifts, Ecommerce trends and buying patterns)

 

Platform Management 
o    Work closely with the BSI (global business insight team) and technology team to build technology stacks to automate the data and insight process. Responsibility includes mapping business requirements, understanding what technology and systems are in-house and how we build the capability needed 
o    Convert complex data into visual communications
o    Understand external vendors, their unique data capabilities and articulating a clear point on view on whether it makes sense to partner with them. If yes, execute pilots to validate the capability.
o    Identifying new tools and potential sources in the analytical world to improve our performance
o    Work on futuristic capabilities and solutions (such as machine learning and artificial intelligence) that can guide our go-to-market strategy. 
o    Serve as key contact with all platform vendor tools. 
o    In partnership with Procurement, negotiate data contracts with suppliers and manage insights & analytics budget.

Key Challenges

Qualifications

  • Degree educated from a US or international recognised university
  • MBA or equivalent a plus
  • 7+ years experience as a business manager/ consulting / research and advisory group
  • Career in leading CPG company/ e-commerce/ e-retailer a plus
  • Exposure to data tools, technology. Experience working with Data scientist and programmers a plus
  • Very strong analytical skills
  • Ability to lead discussions and align senior management.
  • Cross function exposure to other business operations.
  • Entrepreneurial and financially & commercially astute
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) a plus
