Legal Counsel Internship – Category Development

Our products reach millions of people every day, as we fight to improve global access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness and nourishment. Hygiene Business Unit includes household names such as Finish, Airwick, Lysol, Vanish and Harpic.  We have an opportunity for an intern for 6 months, with the possibility of a further 6 month contract extension.

 
Joining and reporting into a truly global legal team, you’ll:

 
• Work with marketing, R&D, legal and regulatory functions on the world’s biggest brands and help on topics as broad as our product portfolio - advertising, marketing and partnership contracts to compliance and intellectual property.
• Help to develop methods to optimise marketing creativity in a responsible manner consistent with Reckitt’s fight and purpose.
• Develop business-focused legal guidance and advice on product marketing claims eg. advertising and on pack claims.
• Gather evidence for those claims and find the most productive way to interpret, store, share and expand that evidence.
• See your work with legal counsels and your commercial colleagues optimise the launch of new products, segments and brands into markets around the world.
• Learn to tackle complex issues that cross organisational and geographical boundaries.
• Enhance training materials and systematisation of our legal advice.
• Build and promote a flexible products claims bank online system.

 
You’ll succeed because… 

 
• you’re an enthusiastic, law student or graduate, or in the process to become a qualified lawyer
• Available for a 1st August start in the Netherlands
• Finished your 4th year of law degree, or currently enrolled or considering enrolment in a Master program or other qualifying law degree, preferably with engagement in consumer law.
• Have studied and ideally have a successful first experience in consumer law, marketing law and business or contract law.
• Have an excellent English proficiency: additional European languages are a plus.
• You think commercially, look beyond the obvious and relish finding solutions to challenges.
• Enjoy and embrace technological development.
• Comfortable working at pace, believe in trying new ideas and working collaboratively to enhance them.
