As the  Outsourcing Manager you will drive vendor selection activities including, but not limited to Contract Research Organisations (CROs) that are fit for purpose and operating to appropriate quality standards. An outsourcing or procurement expert, you will help lead the Outsourcing Team in contract negotiations for clinical studies and other project related spend for the Clinical Operations Team.  You will manage and maintain budget across brands to provide timely forecasting to stakeholders, utilising in house portfolio management software, and you will ensure the individuals within the team are supported from a personal development perspective, and are valued within the team. Driving the outsourcing process by working with the Clinical and Quality teams to ensure selection of a suitable vendor that has both the methodologies and location to best meet the study and/or project requirements, you'll also support the preparation of the scope of work (specifications of services), judging suitability of vendors, identifying and facilitating resolution of any business and legal issues and coaching cross-functional teams in the decision making process. You'll coach members of the Clinical team and other relevant stakeholders on best outsourcing practices and excellent vendor oversight, alongside your line management tasks for direct reports and others, targeting personal and technical development and training.


You’ll succeed because… 
…you're qualified within a science or finance related field. With a background in clinical or R&D leadership experience in a healthcare company, including contract negotiation and/or procurement. You:

  • Have experience in managing teams of direct and indirect reports
  • Use fact-based decision making; leverages market data, spend analytics, and cost modelling to drive business decisions
  • Possess good commercial acumen and negotiation skills; track record of capturing value and savings in other environments.
