Associate Manager, Food Safety and Compliance

Job Description: 
•    Leads HACCP / Food Safety program for the Reckitt Zeeland manufacturing facility
•    Represents Zeeland on the Reckitt Nutrition Global HACCP / Food Safety team
•    Leads Zeeland plant HACCP Food Safety team in hazard analysis process and in the development of the detailed HACCP documentation.
•    Represents Quality on capital project teams to ensure adherence to the Reckitt HACCP / Food Safety program requirements
•    Works to ensure HACCP and Prerequisite programs are routinely reviewed as part of the Change Control program. Partners with plant to drive gap closure.
•    Develops verification and validation program for Control Points and Critical Control Points to meet regulatory and Reckitt requirements.
•    Develops and conducts HACCP / Food Safety training for the Zeeland site.
•    Coach, train, teach, and mentor plant personnel to ensure overall understanding and compliance of HACCP / Food Safety and Food Defense programs and to assist others to actively engage in managing for results.
•    Participates on and provides leadership to site internal audit team
•    Provide support for internal and external customer and regulatory facility audits, including FDA
•    Understands and ensure compliance to with all applicable FDA regulations, HAACP, GMP, sanitation, and allergen control programs and assures strict adherence to regulations and industry food safety standards.
•    Conducts troubleshooting on food safety issues and make decisions in a rapid, complex environment
•    Provides technical input to the Plant Hygienists to drive continuous improvement of facility sanitation systems through microbiological data analysis.
•    Occasional travel to third party manufacturing locations may be required.
•    Other duties as assigned


•    Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or related degree
•    A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, sanitation, or quality assurance/quality control.
•    Experience in an FDA regulated environment
•    Must have profound knowledge of HACCP / Food Safety and in quality systems.
•    Knowledge of quality systems such as SAP, GLIMS, and Optiva
•    Microbiological knowledge is required.
•    FSPCA PCQI or equivalent certification desired
•    Good people development skills and communication skills.
•    Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
•    Demonstrates achievements within a competitive business environment where change in business dynamics plays a major role. The individual will have a track record with proven results and achievements
•    Strong communication skills with other Quality staff and the ability to interact and work with Quality, Engineering, and Operations staff on a daily basis.
