The Planning Assistant is responsible for the set-up and maintenance for multiple systems and processes within the Evansville Manufacturing Plant.  As a part of the Materials Planning Department, the Senior Planning Assistant will interact within a variety of teams including: the Materials Planning group, project teams, Marketing and Finance.  This role will provide support for key business projects and lead planning improvement projects. The ideal candidate would have strong time management skills, proactive, and results driven. Our Manufacturing Excellence team help us improve the efficiency, quality and safety of our manufacturing operations, and our Logistics Excellence team develop new and innovative ways to distribute our products to customers.

Your responsibilities

  • Generate and prepare documentation to support the release of Process Orders (MBR’s, PBR’s, Weigh Sheets, Scheduling Requests and any additional pertinent documentation.)
  • Coordinates the completion of Intra-Plant shipments, and Material Movement Forms
  • Works with QA to maintain conditional release items.
  • Coordinates Rewor
  • Holds record retention of documentation
  • Ensure materials on expiry report do not impact upcoming Process Orders
  • Effectively communicate any potential issues to Planning and Operations
  • Enter bulk formulations into WINS
  • Run reports to support Planning:
    • Expiry/Retest
    • Weigh Containers > 20days
    • Inventory Aging
    • BOM Change
    • Additional Reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

The experience we're looking for

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of:
    • SAP and the interrelationships between Warehouse, Production, Planning and QA
    • WINS
    • Business Objects
    • Optivia
    • GLIMS
    • Barcoding and any other interfaces 
  • Previous experience with material management systems SAP/APO (ECC/SCM), Business Objects, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing, 5S, and TPM
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Solution-oriented approach to complex challenges, with a focus on process improvement

US salary ranges

USD 57,000 - 85,000

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
