Research & Development

About the role

This position at the heart of global Innovation team is a fast paced and dynamic role to manage as well as implement assigned projects and activities with an increased level of technical complexity and exposure to technical as well as business partners. In this role the ability of being a leader and to develop others is key, as well as an excellent technical knowledge.

Your responsibilities

• To deliver assigned projects and activities for new innovation projects in line with innovation strategy and execute them in a combination of external partnering and your own hands-on mentality. This may include communication with key stakeholders such as Marketing, Legal, Supply and other R&D functions.
• To work on next generation products
• To deepen your know-how in ADWD and formula development, patents, technology landscaping, research agreements, methods & application tests
• To be responsible for ensuring that all innovation activities on assigned projects are conforms to legislative, Health, Safety, Environmental and global/local quality requirements, including the adoption and tracking of laboratory best practices
• To be accountable for liaison with appropriate technical development teams, to innovate for & successful transfer to Product Development
• To report your results in a concise and structured way to key stake holders like Product Development and Senior Management
• To lead and train a team while building great team spirit
• To have deep understanding of consumer needs and insights, underpinning product development and delivery, resulting in exciting and relevant new ideas and opportunities
• To use a wide breadth of view when analyzing a problem whilst maintaining a focus on the objectives

The experience we're looking for

• Master’s degree in chemistry
• At least 3 years of professional experience in the Research & Development of an FMCG company
• Technical expertise and curiosity with the ability to develop
• People management experience would be an advantage
• Good understanding of the FMCG market, consumers & competition
• Develop disruptive solutions for unaddressed problems and drive sustainability and performance of consumer products.
• Have an excellent understanding of physical and chemical principles and broad technical expertise with the ability to develop and assess new technologies / methods and approaches
• Experience of working with external partners
• Experience with Quality Management System related to product development would be a clear advantage
• Proficient in English, German skills are an advantage
