About the role

A unique creative opportunity is available for a talented Industrial or Product Designer to join our 3D & Packaging Innovation team at our Global R&D facility in Hull. In this role you will be working in our Hygiene Power-brand Portfolio as part of a creative team, that combines design and engineering. Joining a focussed global team, you’ll be responsible for developing innovative packaging concepts and product delivery systems at the very first stages of a project.

Your responsibilities

- Design consumer products with consideration for function, consumer use and aesthetic appeal.

- Create realistic images of your ideas by using 3D CAD modelling and surfacing (SolidWorks) & rendering software (Visualize or Keyshot).

- Construct and develop prototypes that effectively demonstrate your ideas to stakeholders, focusing on technical function & proof of principle.

- Communicate your ideas effectively to a wide range of cross functional partners, such as marketing & R&D scientists.

- Apply your experience of Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding and other manufacturing technologies into designs for rapid tooling and consumer handling.

- Create new manufacturable mechanical solutions for dispensing & delivering our products, with patent potential.

The experience we're looking for

- A Degree in Industrial Design (Engineering) or BA (Hons) in Product Design.

- Proven experience in product design in either manufacturing or design consultancy environments.

- Can effectively illustrate your new ideas & mechanisms as quick, hand drawn, 2D Sketches, on SolidWorks 3D CAD or as photorealistic product renderings.

- Ability to prioritise and operate simultaneously on a wide variety of projects, and successfully approach different challenges in the innovation process.

- A creative lateral thinker and problem solver on a variety of structural challenges, who thrives in a fast paced, small, international team.

- Natural curiosity in product construction with the confidence to generate and introduce your ideas.
