About the role

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Quality Specialist are to provide leadership of Distribution Center product quality and facilitate quality improvement activities, assure proper quality systems are developed, implemented, and observed, establish objectives for quality within the Distribution Center operation, provide feedback to the operation on performance against quality requirements, serve as a resource for information relative to all aspects of products and process quality, facilitate implementation of new products and processes, and support and integrate Quality/GMP principles within the Distribution Center quality role at the Health/ Hygiene Distribution Centers at Las Vegas.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

•        Lead Quality Management System ownership transition to 3PL at Las Vegas Health/Hygiene Distribution Centers
•        Maintain and improve Culture of Quality at Distribution Centers
•        Monitor 3PL Quality performance through inspection, audit, verification, and increase audit readiness with supports from DC operations.
•        Oversight of all external or internal audits with 3PL, with responsibility to ensure timely implementation of any resulting corrective actions.
•        Lead investigations of undesirable trends affecting the quality and availability of products in distribution, facilitate root cause analysis, and developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to drive to disposition. 
•        Monitor GMP compliance at the Distribution Center. This will include GMP and GDP compliance in the areas of product storage, handling practices, and distribution operations.
•        Provide training and guidance as required on QMS, especially Reckitt owned SOPs. 
•        Liaise with regional and global Regulatory, Research and Development, and Manufacturing Quality organizations as appropriate on product quality-related issues that require investigation or review at the DC level.
•        Provide leadership on continuous improvement projects, quality initiatives, etc. as established by corporate Quality Management or local site management.
•        Support/maintain/ improve Quality Management System for U.S. Distribution Center network.
•        Own relationships with 3PL stakeholders and assure Reckitt requirement and process are followed.
•        Support cross functional projects of Distribution Center. 

Product Releases and Traceability

  • Responsible for Hold and Release program. This will include quarantine area management, placement of block in system, continuous improvement, etc.
  • Ensure full compliance and for product releases.
  • Maintain knowledge of WMS and SAP systems to accurately set status.
  • Ensure that Hold Notifications are made to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination of recalls, hold notifications, stop-shipments, etc., in consultation with management of supplying organization / factory and QA Management.
  • Management and continuous improvement of relevant KPIs for Las Vegas Quality Release process, such as RFT, % Stock in QI, Batch Aging reporting and release timing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BA or BS degree in the sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible quality assignments in Consumer Products, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and/ or Food
  • Experienced in Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Distribution Practices.
  • Experience working in ISO14001:2004 environment preferred.
  • Experienced in quality systems such as ISO 9000, GMP, HACCP, and Auditing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving, decision making and computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deal confidently and effectively with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to confidently and effectively manage direct reports, keeping the team on task and clear on objectives

US salary ranges

USD $68,000.00 - $102,000.00 ​

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
