The Trade Marketing Director will take a leadership role in trade strategy development and implementation for categories/brands across all customers and classes of trade, as well as driving growth strategies for key customers across all of Reckitt’s Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements (VMS) brands.  The Director will train and lead the VMS trade team in conducting analysis, developing best practices, monitoring 4Ps, managing new product introductions and spearheading annual sales planning.

  • Identify research gaps and provide input in research design/implementation.  Understand and drive development of consumer and channel/customer insights through research.  Use data gathered through research/analysis to develop category 4Ps strategy for customer strategy implementation. 
  • Maintain a strong relationship with Global and Local Marketing Teams.  Incumbent must have excellent knowledge of sales requirements/needs in order to be viewed as an expert/leader in this area.
  • Develop/understand category best practices and ensure transfer of knowledge to Sales for implementation.  
  • Develop go to market strategies across all channels/classes of trade that will avoid conflict and maximize sales and share growth.
  • Leverage category analytical insights, coupled with trade and sales planning capabilities to influence cross-functional commercialization – leading the Trade Marketers in assessing critical success factors for successful delivery of all VMS go to market strategies.
  • Keep “Consumer and Customer First” mentality in assessing key strategic plans for effective in market execution and maximized sales.
  • Use research to develop efficient and effective pricing and promotion strategies in accordance with category success models.
  • Lead annual category 4Ps sales planning and review process by understanding business objectives and translating them into a 4Ps Local Success Model for Sales execution. 
  • Train and manage staff to both build 4Ps gap analysis and develop clear, specific plans for corrective action.
  • Champion new product market entry and execution.  Includes managing the development of sales presentation/materials and managing tracking/analyzing the 4Ps in-market implementation.
  • Develop and present market/consumer/category trends to key customers.  Establish Reckitt as a Customer Partner and Category Expert. 
  • Utilize information from a range of sources to understand market trends, competition, customer strategy and brand strategy.
  • Set strategy for the development of national and/or local account-specific promotional programs/key events.
  • Collaborate with Trade Finance to assess and implement category trade effectiveness practices for maximized trade ROI

  • 4-year college degree, MBA preferred
  • 5-years Direct Sales experience with cross functional exposure to other business operations
  • Must have trade marketing/sales planning background
  • P&L management
  • Commercialization process management 
  • Proven leadership and ability to train/develop/lead a staff
  • Good understanding of customer management process
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and enjoy data analysis; Ability to review data, draw conclusions and implement learnings are a must
  • Strong knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI, Spectra, Numerator Panel Data, A&Us)
  • Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, Nielsen/IRI)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
