About the role

Reckitt is seeking to create a risk-based framework to allow it to adopt AI safely, mitigating the ethical, legal and business risks, whilst unleashing the full potential of AI. Integral to our responsible adoption of AI is an effective data retention policy adoption, with a roadmap for execution. Data ethics underpins these pillars.

Your responsibilities

In summary, you'll:

  • Lead the AI Working Group, building capability across Legal.
  • Lead the evolution of Reckitt’s Responsible AI Governance framework, evolving as the landscape matures.
  • Collaborate with IT&D in supporting the AI strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the Legal community and cross-functionally across the Enterprise to ensure the responsible implementation of AI.
  • Support ongoing governance framework on Responsible AI deployment. Works with implementing teams to scope controls to mitigate legal and business risks.
  • Support Level 2 AI review committee.
  • Be responsible for overseeing monitoring and reporting of the Responsible AI deployment.
  • Provide tools and advisory support to Procurement Legal, IMEX and Regional Heads of DP, enabling agile execution of AI tools, meeting relevant requirements.
  • Design a Global Data Retention framework.  Works with IT&D to build roadmap to implement the framework.
  • Support the overall strategy and execution of the Data Governance team.
  • Map and support Reckitt’s approach to Data Ethics.
  • Work collaboratively with GPO, Regional Heads of DP and the wider Legal and Compliance function.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and legal developments in the field of AI and Data Governance, advising senior management on potential risks and opportunities.

The experience we're looking for

  • Qualified Lawyer with extensive experience (10+PQE) in corporate legal roles, within multinational corporations, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing technology contracts and solutions, including IT procurement. Additionally broad breadth of experience across Data Protection, IP and anti-trust. Able to identify a range of legal risks in project deployment and mitigate accordingly whilst still delivering on business objectives. 
  • Can effectively manage legal risk, compliance and business opportunities in order to leverage opportunities, without materially affecting risk.
  • Demonstrable experience of partnering with market teams to support innovation and productivity opportunities to help drive NR, whilst mitigating risk in a proportionate manner.
  • Exceptional drafting skills and clear communication.
  • Demonstrable evidence of developing succinct, relatable, and accessible training content to build capability across a global legal function.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated experience leading complex global projects from conception to implementation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and accountability within the business.
