About the role

Minor Room Operator 6:00AM - 6:15PM, Rotating schedule

St. Peters, MO

The Minor Room / Machine Operator is responsible for operation, troubleshooting and autonomous maintenance of processing equipment. Core process is to maintain the hoppers and vessels supplied with different raw ingredients and readily available for processing. Additional tasks include assurance of proper inventory by scanning materials to/from inventory system and maintain good housekeeping. In this role, the Minor Room Operator must have knowledge of safety, quality and operating procedures and guidelines, and comply with those. The Minor Room Operator must be able to independently perform most assignments and train peers as needed. 

Your responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains processing equipment as needed within the planned time. 
  • Refills chemicals and operates equipment used for that such as forklift.
  • Documents usage according to Quality and Operational procedures.
  • Continuously evaluates manufacturing operations, suggests and implements improvements to achieve optimum material handling process efficiencies. 
  • Follows current work instruction and ensures adherence to the Quality Control Plan and related SOP's including GMP guidelines as required.  Completes all production records as required.  
  • Follows Micro-B procedures when required.
  • Trains other Manufacturing Operators and Temporary Workers daily.
  • Completes regular documented Safety Audit and initiates Corrective Action as needed using internal forms & systems.

The experience we're looking for

  • Must be able to operate Forklift.
  • Chemical processing related experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic technical knowledge of mixers, pre-weigh hoppers, powder blending and conveying systems is required. 
  • Must have the ability to work any shift and function in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and great attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve and engage employees in a team environment. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach overhead, bend or stoop, walk occasionally, grasp items with hands and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Understanding of basic chemical properties of materials is preferred.
