You will...

 

  • Provide visibility to the IT&D leadership for the overall spend, cost saving initiatives etc.
  • Work with Product Stream Architects, Strategy and Ops Leads, Product & Platform Directors,  Enterprise Architecture and Finance Business Partners to drive Cloud Optimisation 
  • Work with product managers / product stream leads to present the financial details for their cloud spends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and business units, to align cloud cost optimization strategies with overall business objectives. Communicate cloud financial information effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to provide visibility on the cloud spend and keep it within the budget 
  • Cloud Cost Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimize cloud costs and drive efficiency in cloud resource consumption. Monitor and analyse cloud spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement initiatives to reduce waste and maximize value.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Work closely with finance and business teams to develop and manage cloud-related budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive informed decision-making.
  • Cloud Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce cloud governance policies and guidelines to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, security requirements, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with IT and security teams to maintain a secure and compliant cloud environment.
  • Cloud Cost Allocation: Develop methodologies and frameworks for allocating cloud costs to different business units or projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate cost attribution and facilitate financial transparency.
  • Cloud Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize cloud resource utilization and cost efficiency. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to right-size cloud instances, implement automation, and leverage cost-saving mechanisms such as Reserved Instances or Savings Plans. Analysis and Optimisation of all Cloud spend
  • Build FinOps community of practice to share best practices and upskill the IT&D function

You'll succeed because you have...

 

  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in financial management, cloud cost optimization, or a similar role within the cloud computing industry.
  • Strong understanding of cloud services (Azure, AWS & Google Cloud) and their pricing models, including knowledge of resource tagging, cost allocation, and billing mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Solid understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and cost control methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud management platforms and cost optimization tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, FinOps Framework).
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to think strategically and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Multi Cloud Environments (Azure, AWS & GCP)
  • Certification in Azure/AWS/GCP /FinOps is preferable
  • Must possess a University degree with good academic record
