About the role

Are you a data science leader passionate about people development and looking for an opportunity to drive ML solutions while contributing to AI Governance efforts? We are seeking a Data Science Manager who is not just skilled but also fosters a culture of data-driven decision-making and strong governance. This role is a key part of our Global Data Science team, supporting Responsible AI efforts.

Your responsibilities

  • Foster an AI-first culture leaning towards data-driven decision-making. 
  • Engage with IT&D Product Lines to discuss business challenges and identify potential AI & ML solutions. 
  • Collaborate with SMEs and platform teams on data necessities and arrangements, ensuring optimal performance. 
  • Support Responsible AI efforts, ensuring that our data science practices are ethical, fair, and transparent. 
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in the data science field and lead the design, creation, and implementation of complex models and algorithms that drive analytical solutions throughout the organization. 
  • Convey model principles and outcomes to management in an understandable manner; be adept at storytelling.

The experience we're looking for

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics.
  • Min. 5 years of industry experience in handling structured and unstructured data, with a proven record of accomplishment of leveraging data to drive business impact.
  • Proven team management experience (at least 2 years).
  • Experience with Responsible AI practices would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong Programming skills in Python and solid understanding of cloud services (preferably Azure).
  • Experience in data science capacity within complex business environments, including data mining, machine learning, NLP, AI, and predictive modelling.
  • Experience working with large datasets using various data wrangling and visualization tools.
  • Used various Business Intelligence tools (preferably Power BI).
  • Developed a good working knowledge of available technology capabilities and how and where to deploy them.
  • Led data discovery process with key stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Consumer Goods industry understanding is an advantage.
