Your responsibilities

•    Project Planning

  •     Generate and organize relevant data to gain agreement among project stakeholders on a defined project scope.
  •     Ensure that the project scope includes fulfillment of relevant regulatory requirements including compliance with, as a minimum, RB/MJN quality requirements, United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) regulations, state and federal environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements, and RB/MJN engineering guidelines.
  •     Prepare project budgets and cash flow projections.
  •   Coordinate the completion of financial analysis for economic justifications.
  •    Assemble project implementation timelines in the form of milestone and detailed project schedules.
  •    Prepare capital appropriation requests and route to obtain management approval.

•    Project Execution and Control

  •     Prepare project plans to communicate scope, schedule, budget and resources necessary to successfully achieve project objectives.
  •     Schedule and conduct regular meetings with project teams to communicate project status and plan activities for project completion.
  •     Ensure project timelines are adhered to and promise dates to the customer are met.
  •     Control project spending to within designated parameters to align with company business goals and objectives and provide bi-weekly management updates of spend forecasts and project status.
  •     Regularly communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  •     Communicate and align capital project schedule with scheduled plant shutdowns.
  •  

  •     Maintain a project scope variance log to record budget and schedule impacts of requested changes and facilitate management review.
  •     Prepare or assist with the preparation of system documentation including user requirements specifications (URS), functional and design specifications, and equipment qualification protocols.
  •     Oversee or perform activities involving equipment specification, design development, vendor selection, equipment procurement, and installation and start-up activities.
  •     Generate bid packages and procurement requests, per RB/MJN procurement policy and review change orders and change requests to ensure project objectives are maintained while considering budget and schedule constraints.
  •     Oversee the work of engineering and construction contractors to ensure the timely, safe, and proper completion of work activities.
  •     Conduct project reviews with site EHS representatives to ensure that projects are planned and implemented in accordance with site environmental, health, and safety guidelines and procedures.
  •     Ensure all contractors are operating in a safe and compliant manner and are respectful of site policies.
  •     Review and monitor hot work, critical lifts, excavations, and confined space entries and ensure appropriate work permitting is in place.
  •     Conduct project reviews with site quality and compliance representatives to ensure that projects are adhering to RB/MJN quality standards and procedures.
  •     Participate in project related qualification/validation activities, including periodic reviews, as necessary.  
  •     Evaluate equipment and system changes for impact on the qualified state. Utilize existing change control procedures to ensure the qualified state is maintained.
  •     Support the preparation and completion of equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols and project change control activities and follow company policy and procedure along with current industry standards.
  •     Effectively apply economically responsible principles to projects and daily work, including the prioritization of projects in alignment with business needs and economic constraints, while meeting commitments on project timing and budget.
  •     Effectively network among internal and external functional groups and organizations to ensure access to required information during project execution.
  •     Conduct project closeout activities in accordance with company procedures to ensure the timely and proper completion of change control requirements along with the entry of asset information for financial and tax accounting purposes.

    Desired Qualifications

  •     Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical).
  •     Minimum 10+ years relevant engineering experience in an infant formula, food and beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  •     Superior interpersonal relationship, communications, leadership, and influencing skills.
  •     Demonstrated ability to lead people and multi-disciplinary teams in a complex environment.
  •     Demonstrated ability to provide expert engineering support during the implementation of equipment installations, process improvement, and facility, utility, and maintenance projects to support manufacturing and packaging operations.
  •     Proven capability and experience in providing manufacturing support in a high intensity, fast paced, continuously changing environment.
  •     The ability to apply structured problem solving analysis techniques utilizing standard principles and practices to provide solutions. Expertise in the use of formal problem solving techniques (6 sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, 5s, root cause analysis, etc.) is preferred.
  •     Demonstrated accountability in meeting objectives, and communicating both positive and negative information in an open and timely manner.
  •     Independently develop, recommend, gain acceptance, and implement equipment or system purchases or modifications to improve plant productivity, profitability, or regulatory compliance.
  •     Provide technical coaching and/or instruction to other engineers, skilled trades people and operators in the appropriate operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices for production equipment.
  •     Effectively be able to communicate issues, goals, and objectives and manage competing requests in a complex, dynamic environment with multiple customers.
  •     Apply an understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), FDA (cGMP) and EHS (OSHA/EPA) regulatory requirements to project work.
  •     Demonstrate an expert understanding of engineering theoretical fundamentals of equipment operation, and demonstrate full use of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in creative and novel ways to solve complex technical problems.
  •     Demonstrate an expert proficiency in the ability to read, understand, and create specifications, drawings, flowcharts, sketches, schematics, and other engineering design documentation.
  •     Develop and implement innovative or novel engineering solutions to resolve new and traditional process and equipment challenges and provide equipment solutions to support existing and new product formulations and introductions.
  •     Possess a fundamental understanding of process control systems and the theory of operation.
  •     Act as a technical expert with a broad knowledge and deep understanding of the latest equipment technologies for powder processing and packaging systems.

USD $104,000.00  -  $156,000.00
