Job Overview and Scope
Leads the North America Medical Affairs function. Provide support to commercial teams by providing medical and scientific expertise to drive optimal business strategic direction and tactical business activities, including product launches, key scientific meetings, relationship management with leading research physicians and medical delivery system or government decision makers, critical evaluation of current literature and competitive activity, and in other domains where medical and scientific expertise is required.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide input in helping to reshape and communicate a compelling vision for the medical function in North America that is aligned with the overall business strategy.
• Serve as medical expert to US and Canada interactions with Country specific government agencies as required
• Provide support to commercial teams by providing medical, scientific and clinical expertise to drive optimal strategic and tactical business activities including product launches, key scientific meetings relationship management with leading research physicians and government decision makers.
• Responsible for providing medical input to documents including regulatory submissions, publications, medical education and advisory board presentations.
• Partner with U.S. and Canadian marketing and Nutrition Science to craft compelling science stories and clinically based claims.
• Collaborate with Marketing Leaders and MPNI leaders to strategically implement North American Pediatric Nutrition Institute activities.
• Serve as member of the North American Operating Committee, Canadian Leadership Team and North America Regional Portfolio Group providing guidance and clinical insight in support of the business strategy.
• Build MJN scientific and clinical reputation through direct interaction with Key healthcare professionals, other academicians, influential researchers in North America, academic centers, professional and government organizations involved in clinical nutrition in order to create positive impact on company image and business goals.
• Review and advise on adverse events for US and Canada, Evaluate OOS.
• Provide medical guidance to the MJN Labeling Excellence team.
• Work closely with associations such as AAP, NASPGHAN, Neonatologist and the Pediatric community to advance Reckitt reputation and priorities.
• Provide input to ensure that the clinical research programs are aligned with the overall business strategy of North America if possible.
• Facilitate publication of the results of Reckitt sponsored clinical studies by collaborating with Manager, Global Communication to identify the most appropriate scientific communication to ensure wide acceptance of data by medical community and support the innovation pipeline.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 15 years of experience in a pediatric specialty including neonatology, gastroenterology, allergy or developmental pediatrics with administrative or business experience. Academic stature and credibility in medical community is desirable. Strong networking ability, interpersonal skills, and influencing skills. Understanding and experience in the use of pediatric nutritional products. Strong business acumen. Ability to translate science into commercial proposition. Experience in clinical trials and publication. Experience in supporting commercial functions is desirable.
Education
MD with relevant experience in clinical medicine. Experience and/or additional training in either pediatric Gastroenterology or Neonatology preferred.
