Your responsibilities

AM-Transportation is responsible for planning and coordination of transportation operations of finished goods from the factories to the DCs & DCs to DCs in India. Responsible to delivery of Budgeted freight cost with improved service level. 

•    Work with the business on the network and budget the transportation costs.
•    Work with factories in improving the productivity / truck load efficiencies to reduce the delivery cost.
•    Work with the procurement team to conduct the reverse Auction or online RFQ’s  and negotiation of yearly freight rate contracts.
•    Finalizing the transportation strategy and firm up the negotiation strategies for different businesses / products.
•    Developing the vendor base for different factory locations.
•    Benchmarking of freight rates across industry.
•    Work on the different levers to optimize the freight per case
•    Collaborate with Vendors/Industry to create new options for reducing the delivery cost.
•    Ensuring full implementation of Oracle Transport Management across all lanes and transactions
•    Vendor reconciliation w.r.t freight and shortage/damage
•    Focusing on the transporter performance and ensure that the following parameters are tracked directly.
o    Placement index
o    On time delivery
o    Damages/losses in transit & Claim management
o    Incentive / Penalty enforcement as per the agreed contract
o    Administration of the transporter rating / Scorecard system.
•    Strong capability on analytical skills with strong hold on Python and Power BI is must for this role. 

Logistics skills – In depth experience in managing transportation activities. Experience in warehousing operations &  customer service is preferred
