About the role

Perform the daily start-up operations & daily maintenance of Reckitt’s R&D Montvale facility. Preparing & executing services in both lab and office environments in one or more of the following trades listed below.

Key responsibilities

•    Perform morning start-up duties (site walk around, inspect building for lighting; heating or A/C issues before start of day)
•    Install or repair electric wiring, fixtures and equipment when necessary
•    Install or relocate outlets, telephone and computer cables; replace fuses, sockets, bulbs and switches when necessary
•    Repair and build laboratory equipment when possible
•    Perform all special projects or build special lab equipment when necessary or as required and specified by supervisor.
•    Maintain and repair building electrical and mechanical equipment such as exhaust fans, HVAC equipment, motors and pumps. 
•    Perform all plumbing repairs on-site to heating system, pneumatic controls and lavatories. 
•    Perform necessary carpentry duties to make minor office renovations; build and remove system furniture.
•    Repair office furniture, locks, desk drawers, etc.
•    Maintain a log of key inventory for the site 
•    Repair carpets, tiles and other flooring surfaces
•    Remove snow from sidewalks and salt/sand  
•    Order all maintenance chemicals and all necessary parts 
•    Check & maintain chemical treatment for boilers, cooling tower and grease trap
•    Maintain building water softening systems
•    Schedule all boiler inspections
•    Perform all necessary filter changes
•    Assist & schedule maintenance & repair on Fire Systems
•    Perform supervisor duties when supervisor is out of office or off-site
•    Support all H&S Audits and Inspections /H&S Log sheets 
•    When bringing contractors in ensure they have received the proper safety before any work begins 
•    When bringing in contractors the following must be completed. Fill out all safety/contractor work, confined space, work at height, and any future required H&S permits before the contractor starts work.
•    Maintain Maintenance equipment logs 

The experience we're looking for

  • 5 to 7 years utilizing a variety of building trade skills for a R&D/Office facility.
  • High School or Technical School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Operate independently with limited supervision
  • Flexibility and initiative desirable
  • Good technical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly, comprehend written and verbal instructions, and basic math.
  • Incumbent must be flexible and available to work overtime and be on call.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb ladders, transport material, perform physical handling of material and perform minor repairs and maintenance of equipment.

Equipment operation/certification:

  • Company truck
  • Operate fork-lift truck for warehouse
  • A wide variety of hand and power tools commonly used in building trades
  • Operate boilers, air conditioning equipment
  • State of NJ – Black Seal Boiler License

US salary ranges

USD $65,000.00  -  $97,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
