About the role

The role available is an Assistant R&D Formulation Scientist.  The role is to provide formulation and other technical support to new product innovations and launches within the VMS category.
•    Support key projects, ensuring that these are executed to the standards required for dietary supplements
•    Contribute to project work ensuring all required formulation, feasibility work, analysis, validation, stability testing, industrial trials and dossier preparation are performed on time and to the required standards.
•    Support the team with respect to required activities that support operations in shared laboratories (maintenance activities, audit preparations, etc.)

Your responsibilities

 

•    Develop new products and technologies based on relevant consumer insights in support of brand initiatives
•    Support and advance multiple projects through the product development process
•    Work cross-functionally to achieve key milestones and objectives
•    Initiate and conduct experiments to validate product and process at bench top, pilot plant, and plant level.
•    Conduct descriptive and comparative sensory panels to characterize product attributes and quantify differences.  Analyze data and make recommendations based on statistical methods.
•    Respond effectively and efficiently to changes in project priorities and needs.
•    Ensure technical aspects of the assigned projects are carried out as per the agreed timings and standards, with any issues or risks clearly highlighted to line manager in a timely manner.
•    Prepare relevant product specifications and internal documentation and ensure all are approved prior to full production start-up.
•    Compile and circulate technical reports throughout the product development process.
•    Ensure all individual work adheres to RB Global Quality Manuals and relevant legislative, regulatory and health & safety requirements, including appropriate quality 
•     Specific function / project work may include: organizing and completing product stability studies, evaluating new raw materials, assisting in developing prototype formulations / products, supporting pilot scale-up and attending industrial trial manufacturing, contributing to team and continuous improvement initiatives, develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including.   
•    Set objectives, conduct performance reviews and advise on the development of his/her team member(s) to enable them to achieve their full potential

QUALIFICATIONS

 

•    Educated to Degree level (Food Science, Chemistry, chemical engineering or other bachelor’s degree)

 

EXPERIENCE (preferred)
•    Proficient with common software, including MSOffice is desirable.
•    Experience of working in a Healthcare or VMS environment is desirable. 
•    Experience with prioritization, problem solving and resource planning is desirable.
•    Experience and skills with organization, prioritization, problem solving, resource planning, and risk management
•    Ability to both deliver independently and communicate in cross-functional project teams
•    Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change.
•    Proactive mindset fitting with RB Core Values and able to exhibit entrepreneurial attributes.

US salary ranges

USD $56,000.00  -  $84,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
