About the role

At Reckitt, as a Controls Technician, you'll have the vital role of keeping our production lines humming with efficiency. It's a blend of maintaining smooth operations and applying your technical know-how to ensure our products are perfectly prepared for customers. This is a hands-on technical position in which the associate is expected to perform the tasks necessary to ensure working controls systems throughout the facility. These tasks include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and programing of various controls systems as well as lending support to the maintenance, engineering, facilities, production, and quality teams.

Your responsibilities

- Plan for, establish, and perform preventative and predictive controls maintenance according to the schedule.
- Expected to competently work with a wide variety of electrical and process meters and tools, have the ability correctly interpret data from various meters, and always have the skill level to work safely. 
- Must be committed to accurate documentation and change management for all work performed, and above all else must adhere strictly to electrical and arc flash safety practices
- Support production equipment and personnel as needed in a safe and efficient manner.  
- Responsible for the ordering of parts, procurement of quotes for equipment, and production modifications within prescribed budgets.
- Continually plan, develop, and complete equipment improvement projects focused on the controls.
- Complete root cause analysis, in line with down time procedure to Identify and implement preventative solutions.
- Support escalation process for line stoppages or breakdowns from production and maintenance.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in respect of safety, cGMP, and quality systems.

The experience we're looking for

- Experienced with high-speed packaging equipment within a FMCG, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical setting.
- Mechanical and / or electrical engineering skills – having completed an apprenticeship or craft training.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working with a wide variety of controls applications, platforms, and devices           
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC logic is preferred.
- Understanding of relay logic is preferred.
- Possess the ability to program and troubleshoot various types of control systems.
- Understand complex ladder logic and electrical schematics 
- Must have extensive IT (Information Technology) and CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) understanding and experience 
- Possess a basic understanding of electrical theory and National Electrical Code (NFPA 70E).
