Your responsibilities
- Performs utilities and building maintenance in conjunction with production requirements.
- Manages contractors for service and maintenance activities.
- Inspects production equipment for mechanical defects and coordinates repairs to improve efficiency and ensure standards are consistently met.
- Inspects department facilities and reports damage to Facilities Manager and Production Managers when necessary
- Coordinates and prioritizes emergency repairs to minimize downtime and / or items that will affect quality and safety.
- Analyses and recommends safety improvements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Plan for, establish, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance according to the schedule.
- Working in a team environment, maintain the facilities, warehouse equipment and support production equipment and personnel as needed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must provide excellent customer service to all internal customers.
- Responsible for the purchase of spare parts, procurement of quotes for equipment, and equipment modifications within prescribed budgets.
- Improve the design and function of the facilities equipment when possible.
The experience we're looking for
- 5+ year’s facility maintenance experience in vitamin, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environment. Other facility or production related type maintenance will be considered.
- A proven background of performing and improving preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance.
- Good working knowledge of plant utilities including HVAC, steam, cooling water, Purified Water, dust collection, compressed air, wastewater treatment
- Analytical skills with drive to implement improvements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical and / or electrical engineering skills
- A proactive problem-solver with a record of driving improvements.
- Capable of meeting and exceeding ambitious targets.
- Knowledge of quality standards / Good Manufacturing Practice and working in a KPI-driven environment.
- Proficient in basic IT skills.
