About the role
To lead the Microbiologist team on a day to day basis, ensuring work is completed on time, to defined procedures in compliance with Good Control Laboratory Practice, thereby providing continuous support to our consumer quality and customer service performance in Bangplee factory.
Your responsibilities
- To lead a team of Microbiologist in Health environment.
- Prioritising day to day workload of the team to meet customer service requirements.
- To have complete ownership for the customer service, quality and cost within their area, including but not limited to overtime.
- To ensure that microbial test results are checked, approved, recorded and available for inspection in accordance with Good Manufacturing & Control Laboratory Practices.
- To understand and follow all necessary Health & Safety systems and ensure that work is consistent with safe working practices.
- To support the application and maintenance of Microbiology laboratory quality systems.
- To provide effective application of Microbial investigation as defined in SOPs.
- To collate, trend and interpret microbiological results. Providing updates to Site Hygienist.
- To be responsible for delegating appropriate tasks to their team whilst retaining ownership.
- To be responsible for the development of Microbiologist in the team.
- To have effective use of appropriate communication to ensure timely resolution with all relevant parties whilst maintaining the positive image of RB and Microbiologist team.
- Support other departments on site regarding Microbial issue.
- Co-responsible for housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in the microbiological laboratory, also responsible for taking care of laboratory facilities to keep them in good condition and ready for use.
- To organize the schedule and plan to microbiologist team to perform Environment monitoring program.
- To ensure that equipment / instrument is maintenance / calibrated in QC laboratory.
- Ensure the team providing Annual Product Reviews (APRs) for each product according to a schedule provided by the local Quality team.
- Participation in management review of process performance, product quality and of the Pharmaceutical quality system and advocating continual improvement.
- Accountable for ensuring laboratory investigations are thorough and accurate and escalation of confirmed Out of Specification (OOS) and Out Of Trend (OOT) results in line with global standards and any local SOPs.
- To be responsible for equipment qualification for Microbiological equipment to ensure the equipment is readiness to use.
- To understand and follow all necessary Health & Safety systems and ensure that work is consistent with safe working practices.
- Coach and mentor to less experience microbiologist and staff; check quality of their work and help them resolve problems.
- Perform other related jobs that may be assigned by the superior.
- Require basic knowledge about good Hygienic Design.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor degree in Microbiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in Microbiology of manufacturing site, preferable within multinational Pharmaceutical Business.
- Knowledge in Microbiology method validation and PET test is essential.
- Good Command in English.
- Computer skills requirements: MS office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) at intermediate level.
