Business Analyst - Procurement

Role Purpose

The PMO / Business Analyst role sits within the Procurement excellence team.  You will be reporting into the spend analytics lead for the group. You'll be required to support projects/ programmes of Spend Analytics – to deliver analytic tools to the procurement community that step change the productivity delivery, NWC benefit & many more procurement centric KPI improvements . As a result, you will be working closely with the different category procurement teams, project delivery teams, IT teams and business functions to provide process improvement, good governance and information sharing.

 

You will be responsible for the following...............
 

Business Case & Financial Management

  • Supporting the Spend Analytics lead in delivering state of art, new generation of analytics proving sharp insights to the procurement community.
  • Lead some specific initiatives (described below)

 

Delivery/Execution

  • Assist with assessment of project/ programme delivery against the standards and processes
  • Champion best practice approach to project management across the programme, advocating for the latest standards and processes.
  • Redefine existing processes to ensure maximum efficiencies 
  • Participate in identification common capabilities and opportunities for linking up, re-using and sharing of methods/resources between projects to ensure learning from experience is disseminated across the Programme.
  • Maintenance of the plans regularly updating these and issuing to teams 
  • Assisting in the minuting and follow up and preparation of key governance forums supporting the Procurement Director
  • Documentation and follow up to assist with managing risks & issues within the programme
  • Producing and collating reports on project progress metrics 
  • Preparing and maintaining an overall schedule for resource use, which avoids bottlenecks and conflicting demands, and sequencing outcomes, to enable the efficient realisation of benefits
  • Rebuilding and enhancing of the current Sharepoint document repository
  • Review and propose remediation plans for key processes which are inefficient (eg. price communication for PS from the central team to the factories

People/Change Culture

  • Promoting strong leadership behaviours in all actions, acting in a transparent and appropriate manner in dealings with stakeholders and members of project teams and the organisation
  • Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and interest
  • Identifying, addressing and resolving operational differences between individuals and/or interest groups with support by the project or programme manager
  • Maintaining regular dialogue with stakeholders in the form of updates on project deadlines and progress
  • Ensuring any changes and risks are communicated in adequate time to manage expectatio

 

Quality Assurance

  • Ensuring there is a standard, approved way to assess the delivery and execution of activites
  • Maintaining the agreed level of delivery output across the project and highlighting where this is not the case to the right stakeholders
  • Managing the governance process and ensuring all are adhering to it and raising any concerns to relevant managers.

Skills and experience required – desirable

  • Program and Project Management qualifications e.g. Prince2, PMI PMP : PMO Certification (P3O)
  • Previous experience in Big data proficiency: Hadoop / spark – will be added advantage
  • A working knowledge of Ais like LLMs and Altrix etc – will be added advantage
  • Experience in working in Agile environment – will be added advantage
  • Experience in Change management – will be added advantage
  • Strong business acumen to translate data insights into actionable recommendations that align with organizational objectiv
