Category R&D Manager – Condom Innovation
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
Typical responsibilities would include (but not limited to);
- To partner the CDO/Local market team, to build and deliver the pipeline, developing technology strategies supporting the innovation strategy and product strategy of within the condom portfolio ensuring science and rigor at the heart. Innovation could be product, packaging, claims or any other part of the innovation ecosystem.
- Develop talent – Drive within your team and across the R&D organisation both People development and talent management, ensuring clear technical and/or non technical personal development plans are set for all.
- Partner with the China innovation hub to support and drive China first innovation.
- The role will be suitably hands-on, so you will need to lead/do some programs directly working partners and stakeholders.
- As part of the management team, activity drive prioritisation and collaboration to help drive outperformance.
- Build relationships internal and external, including supplier(s) and consultants were needed.
- Pro-actively drive, lead, and coordinate the cross-functional team when needed.
- Champion Intellectual property, encouraging a spirit to identify opportunities to generate Intellectual Property, or alternative options to drive technology ownability.
- Building close working relationships with key internal stakeholders, leading and holding accountable a large multi-functional project team, including 3rd parties, to ensure flawless delivery of projects.
- Champion and drive sustainability in everything we do.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Good degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• > 8 years relevant experience within product development within an FMCG environment.
• People management and People development experience is vital, with good motivational, interpersonal and communication skills. Coaching skills is an essential quality with the ability to give constructive balanced feedback when needed.
• High level Project Management Skills
• Experience within an innovation team and experience of medical device development is preferred.
• Knowledge and hands on experience working on products with several different regulatory classifications would be beneficial. i.e. Medical Devices, OTC pharmaceuticals, Personal care products, Cosmetics, supplements, general products
• Experience working with latex/polymer science is preferred
