About the role

The main aim of the role is to support the Logistics Solution Manager in ensuring external suppliers providing a Transport or Customs service for Reckitt provide the best possible service.

You will be working with freight forwarders and hauliers to ensure shipments are booked in the most efficient way possible with the overall aim of avoiding penalties. This part of the role requires attention to detail and constant management of booking scheduling. A further element to the transport side will be working with our 3rd Part Logistics provider to coordinate port collections, again ensuring no additional penalties are incurred.

Further to dealing with transport providers the role we will require the person to work with customs brokers to ensure every shipment is cleared prior to its allotted booking slot.

 

Your responsibilities

  • E2E customs paperwork process management – ensure customs paperwork from factory to end destination is passed smoothly between stakeholders
  • Action Custom Broker or Freight Forwarder requests for missing paperwork
  • Process improvement - solution the process where breakdowns of paperwork flow occur
  • Run weekly reports to check the statues of shipments and act accordingly based on the status
  • Work closely with our customs brokers to maintain the consistent flow of goods, whilst constantly reviewing process in effort to streamline
  • Working with our 3rd party logistics provider to coordinate port collections and the return of containers
  • Use port systems to book the collection and return of containers to port.
  • Monitor external partners KPI’s
  • Demurrage and Detention Management - ensure shipments are booked in efficiently to avoid additional penalties by using a mixture of Freight Forwarder reports, system data and emailing external suppliers
