As we continue to evolve and strengthen our ANZ business, we are seeking a commercially minded and influential finance leader to join our team as Head of Finance NZ.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Director ANZ, the Head of Finance NZ is a critical leadership role responsible for partnering with the New Zealand business to drive financial performance, strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.

 

As the senior Finance leader for New Zealand, you will provide commercial leadership and financial stewardship across the market, supporting business performance through robust planning, forecasting, analysis and governance. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing key decisions and ensuring a strong balance between performance delivery and long-term value creation.

 

This role is a fixed term contract for approx. 7 months and offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial direction of the New Zealand market while working closely with Commercial, Sales, Supply Chain and ANZ leadership teams in a highly dynamic FMCG environment.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and business partnering support to the New Zealand Leadership Team.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and performance management activities across the NZ business.
  • Deliver meaningful commercial insights to support growth, profitability and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Commercial and Sales teams to optimise customer profitability, pricing and trade investment decisions.
  • Support and challenge business decisions through robust financial analysis and commercial recommendations.
  • Ensure strong governance, financial controls and compliance across the NZ market.
  • Partner closely with ANZ and Regional Finance teams to align financial priorities and business objectives.
  • Lead and support transformation and change initiatives across the business.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, financial discipline and continuous improvement.

 

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
  • CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Significant senior Finance leadership experience within FMCG, Consumer Health or Consumer Goods environments.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior commercial stakeholders to influence business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial finance, business partnering and P&L management capability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading planning, forecasting and performance management processes.
  • Strong understanding of trade spend, customer profitability and commercial investment decision-making.
  • Experience operating within complex matrix organisations and cross-functional environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and deliver impact within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
