About the role
As a Packaging Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, optimization, and implementation of packaging solutions that ensure product quality, efficiency, and sustainability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production, to deliver packaging that meets functional, technical, and regulatory requirements while supporting business objectives.
In this position, you will manage packaging projects from concept to industrialization, conducting tests, analysing performance data, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards. You will also contribute to innovation initiatives, cost-saving projects, and continuous improvement activities, working alongside suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify new materials and technologies.
Your work will have a direct impact on product integrity, consumer experience, and environmental performance, making you an essential link between design, production, and sustainability.
Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define and execute packaging projects on time and within scope.
- Plan and conduct packaging tests to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Analyse test results and align them with project success criteria.
- Document packaging specifications and BOM’s in corporate systems (PLM) and local databases.
- Participate in innovation sessions and cost-saving programs.
- Support supplier visits and quality complaint investigations.
- Cooperate with production and quality teams to resolve packaging-related issues.
- Participate in store checks & supplier evaluations
- Ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and ethical standards in packaging design and supplier interactions.
- Administrative support with samples management/storage/shipments and Document Organization.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree in Engineering (Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical or Materials preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar role
- Fluent spanish and intermediate English (B1–B2)
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Preferred: AutoCAD, packaging technology training
