About the role
As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and implementing Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in accordance with corporate guidelines and current legal regulations. Your goal will be to ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment, leading continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a preventive culture throughout the plant.
Your responsibilities
- Supervise the functionality and legal compliance of fire protection infrastructure in the factory, including coordination and oversight of external service providers
- Conduct control audits of contractors working on-site and manage both paper and electronic documentation
- Create HSE project assumptions, gather necessary data, prepare requests for proposals, evaluate offers, and negotiate with suppliers for smaller projects (supporting negotiations for larger ones)
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely and compliant execution of HSE-related investments and services
- Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are considered in investment projects
- Conduct initial and Reckitt-standard-required HSE training for company and contract employees
- Act as an advisor and controller in safety and ergonomics matters for supervised departments and the factory, while raising awareness and knowledge in this area
- Ensure safety standards are met according to company policies and Polish law for supervised departments
- Maintain the Safety Management System according to applicable standards and prepare/update safety procedures for departments and the factory
- Manage accident documentation and participate in accident investigation committees
- Support implementation of corporate technical standards to optimize costs and results, and collaborate in developing such standards
- Supervise documentation related to occupational hygiene and prepare legally required reports and analyses, in cooperation with HSE representatives in various areas
Requirements
- Higher education in technical field and health & safety
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of fire protection legal requirements and systems; familiarity with FM Global standards is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (local and cloud-based tools)
- Electrical certification is a plus
- High level of self-discipline and results orientation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement business-optimized HSE solutions
- Very good command of English
Desirable Qualifications:
- Training in ADR Safety.
- Training and experience in Legionella management.
- Training and experience in auditing management systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Experience in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
