Your responsibilities

  • Review and update as needed existing plant Environmental programs to ensure compliance.
  • Design and deliver employee training as needed on applicable environmental regulations and topics.
  • Monitor the Plant’s compliance on regulatory requirements, report gaps and develop corrective actions.
  • Maintain all required documents to support compliance.
  • Perform routine site EH&S inspections, follow-up and verifies corrective actions.
  • Review and revise as needed existing procedures and forms that supplement the plant environmental programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of Environmental reports.
  • Support ISO 14001 Management systems.
  • Provide expertise and support for the site’s environmental programs.
  • Delivery of Key Performance Indicators measured across multiple shifts (e.g.: Accident reporting and investigation, work orders, Near Misses, etc.)
  • Conducts incident investigations utilizing root cause analysis processes to determine corrective and preventive actions.
  • Performs audits and inspections of the site and identifies environmental risks.
  • Monitors compliance with environmental procedures and policies.
  • Implement and manage corrective/preventive actions from incident investigations, issues reported, inspections, and audits.
  • Develops and implements environmental programs in conformance with corporate standards and facility strategic direction (Hazardous Materials handling, energy savings, water usage minimization, waste minimization, etc.)
  • Provides input and recommendations to facility leadership and line management regarding all manner of environmental aspects and risks.
  • Plans, develops, delivers, and tracks environmental training programs.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and executes plan to address environmental performance and compliance improvement.
  • Takes the lead during the absence of Associate Environmental Manager.

The experience we're looking for

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Health Science
  • 3-5yrs environmental experience in Manufacturing operation preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental Regulatory reporting requirements
  • Experience in managing regulatory inspections, inquiries, response & closure
  • Knowledge of ISO and OHSAS management system a plus
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and related safety standards and practices
  • Experience in the chemical or chemical-related industry is preferred
  • TCPA Program experience preferred, but not required
  • NJ Air Permitting experience preferred, but not required
  • Toxic release inventory (TRI)
  • Community Right to Know (CRTK)
  • Release & pollution prevention reports
  • DPCC & SPCC inspections
  • DMR & SMR reports
  • Stormwater assessment & program implementation
  • Hazardous waste- compliance & shipments; Biennial report

Salary ranges

USD $80,000.00 -  $120,000.00

Pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
