About the role
The Maintenance Technician will be required to perform, with little or no supervision, a variety of asset reliability tasks, maintenance, modification, and repair activities in assigned operations areas, which may include, manufacturing, packaging, facilities, and perform related work as required
Your responsibilities
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment in order to detect machine defects, malfunctions, or other machine damage.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment according to production specifications.
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Record related equipment repair, preventative maintenance, and facility maintenance information into logbooks and/or asset management systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures on equipment and facilities on a scheduled basis to ensure that equipment continues to function in an effective and efficient manner.
- Follow company's policies and requirements.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant Maintenance SOPs, DOIs, and cGMPs.
- Maintain safe, clean work environment to audit standards.
- Provide support in training newly hired personnel on equipment operation, cGMP requirements, and safety.
- Provide technical support for Process and Packaging machinery.
- Develop MFG and PKG teams in troubleshooting, autonomous maintenance and CI activities. Ensuring team members have sufficient skills to operate at high performance levels and complete autonomous maintenance tasks.
- Perform or Lead project work and line improvement activities to ensure successful implementation.
- Ensure customer service, OEE / output, quality and health and safety KPI targets are exceeded.
- Follow Hazardous Waste, General waste and Recycled Waste management and Disposal procedures.
- Supports Health, Safety, and Environmental by complying Company policies and procedures regardingsafety and employee conduct.
The experience we're looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years strong experience in Maintenance. Pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Pharmaceutical experience.
- Prior exposure to cGMP manufacturing is desired.
- Pharmaceutical knowledge of Tablet compression machinery, fluid bed, blending, granulation and packaging, preferred.
The skills for success
Skills / Abilities & Personal Requirements: ·
- Strong Preventative Maintenance experience, inclusive of correct documentation.
- Welding and Machining is a plus.
- Must successfully complete an internal training program according to position's curriculum.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer.
- Must be able to perform duties with minimal/no direct supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to accurately complete paperwork/documentation.
- Must have extensive machinery troubleshooting skills in Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, and PLC based systems
- Achievement focused and able to work in a direct and pressurized environment.
- Must have superior time management and organizational skills.
- Must have problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Must understand Metric system and be able to convert units.
- Ability to work well in a Team environment.
- Self starter who strives to succeed with a 'can do' and 'will do' attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and/or employees.
- Strong attention to details is a must.
- Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours.
- Must be capable of standing and/or walking no less than 8 hours at one time. Must be able to lift and carry/manipulate up to 55 lbs (25 kg). Must be able to perform a wide range of repetitive motions.
- Must be able to work in the presence of various environmental factors such as heat/cold, dust, dampness, heights, chemicals, fumes, gases, odors, mist, noise, vibrations, etc.
- The employee is required to wear protective clothing and safety equipment such as safety glasses and respirators.
- Needs to work with all internal departments and external suppliers.
