Within Sales, we're focused on achieving outperformance across all of our channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to collaborate to achieve success. We have around 10,000 sales people across the world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts, Trade Marketing and Category Development.

About the role

As a Customer Category Analyst for Essential Home, you will assist in developing and executing category strategies across the portfolio at Walmart.  You will partner with the Category Team Lead at Walmart in developing and sharing insights to drive superior category results for Walmart and the Essential Home portfolio. You will be a crucial team member as we leverage data from Numerator, Luminate, Nielsen, and other available tools and resources to influence assortment, merchandising, and strategies for Walmart to grow the category.

Your responsibilities

You will support mutual growth and deliver category insights that help drive our overall portfolio and category growth. You will also be responsible for converting in-depth shopping and omni retail environment data into insights and category, retail and customer strategies and recommendations.
•    Utilize Numerator, Nielsen, Luminate, and other available resources and tools to identify category opportunities that present mutual growth opportunities for our brands and the category.
•    Provide strategic guidance by identifying and evaluating category performance, assortment, and developing actionable recommendations.
•    Create recurring business reviews and customer facing category presentations by providing deep analysis on drivers using insights from multiple data sources including market and industry trends, competitive reviews, with actionable recommendations. 
•    Develop, update, and monitor weekly reporting for categories our brands play in from Nielsen.
•    Develop, update, and monitor weekly reporting from Luminate Shopper Behavior to understand customer and panel-based trends in responsible assigned categories.
•    Work closely with internal teams and the local sales team to create category landscapes and narratives to support innovation and company strategies.  
•    Help sales team to prepare for line reviews from a category perspective.
•    Interface with Walmart merchants as a category expert during meetings.

The experience we're looking for

•    4-year college degree.
•    1-2 years of experience and proven knowledge/understanding of Retail Link, Luminate, Nielsen, and Numerator.  
•    Some direct Sales and/or Brand Management experience with cross functional exposure to other Business Operations preferred.
•    Must be able to demonstrate ability to independently conduct in-depth data analysis and use the data to develop strong, persuasive selling stories.
•    Computer proficient (Microsoft Office) with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
•    Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to successfully multi-task.
•    Knowledge of Consumer-packaged goods industry.

US salary ranges

USD $80,000.00 -  $120,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
