About the role

The LEI Accountant_fixed-term is a key project finance role created to support the successful execution of the Legal Entity Integration (merger) in Hungary. The role sits within the Finance Controlling – Accounting team and is responsible for ensuring accounting continuity, statutory and group compliance, and data integrity throughout all phases of the integration. The LEI Accountant acts as key resource to support finance execution for merger-related accounting workstreams, working closely with the Chief Accountant, FC HU, FC SEE, LEI Finance Project Manager, Tax, Legal, and GBS/IBM teams.

 

 

The role is limited until October 2027.

Your responsibilities

Based on input from Central Finance team, prepare and post all merger-related journal entries in both the statutory (local GAAP) and group (IFRS) ledgers.

Support the accounting execution of asset and liability transfers between merging legal entities, including fixed assets, intercompany balances, and provisions. Maintain the trial balance integrity across both ledgers throughout the pre-merger, migration, and post-merger phases.

Coordinate reconciliation between the merging entities' books prior to closing and ensure alignment with the legal merger date. Ensure correct IFRS 16 reconciliation and lease accounting entries are maintained throughout the integration. Review of all leases will be needed as pre-requisite for transfer of balances between entities.

Support for Audit exercises; Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting in the ICO (Intercompany) and R2R reporting areas.

Manage fixed asset accounting for the merging entities; Support in execution of the physical fixed asset inventory process as required by Hungarian regulation, needed for pre-go-live and align with frameworks and group policy.

Align with Chief Accountant and FC HU to ensure proper treatment of fixed asset transfers between legal entities in the context of the merger, in line with both local GAAP and IFRS.

Stay close to the process related to all intercompany accounting entries (goods, services, recharges) for affiliated parties across Hungary during the integration period.

Support Market or GBS to execute intercompany netting, compensation, and settlement processes, coordinating with the Tax team to ensure correct treatment for transfer pricing (margin, VAT) and transfer pricing file documentation.

Throughout the project, reconcile affiliated party balances at month-end and coordinate with counterpart entities to resolve open items.

Stay close to Treasury Group and together with Chief Accountant and FC HU manage the RB Treasury credit facility, monitoring cash flows and directing payments in line with group treasury requirements.

Review and validate bank statement entries for the merging entities, ensuring completeness and accuracy of postings.

Stay close to FC HU and Chief Accountant to monitor cash flow implications of the merger and flag liquidity risks to the Finance Controller SEE and Finance Director SEE. Support Accounting Manager to prepare documentation and accounting inputs required for the annual statutory financial statements of the merging entities.

Together with Chief Accountant, act as the designated finance contact for external auditors throughout the LEI project, coordinating the collection and submission of audit evidence at company level.

In case of any internal control, will support internal audit activities and contribute to the annual RFCF (Reckitt Finance Controls Framework) process for the R2R scope.

Stay close with Tax team for transfer pricing file preparation, ensuring that intercompany transactions are correctly reflected and documented.

Support and being involved with the reconciliation between local statutory reporting and group IFRS reporting, ensuring accounting treatments are consistent across both ledgers. Support FC HU and Chief Accountant in the calculation and execution of the annual 'Y%' calculation for the buy-sell model, including annual true-up/true-down processes with Hub entity counterparts.

Stay in close connection with GBS locations to ensure accuracy and completeness of entries processed offshore during the LEI transition.

Monitor BCOP entries for correctness and alignment with group policy. Collaborate with Commercial Controlling to resolve reconciliation issues and define new processes arising from the merger in their side.

The experience we're looking for

Minimum 4–6 years of experience in accounting/R2R, preferably within a multinational or FMCG/Pharma environment.

Good knowledge of Hungarian statutory accounting and IFRS.

Hands-on experience with fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Familiarity with Hunagrian e-compliance requirements: real time invoicing etc.

Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and group reporting tools.

Fluency in Hungarian and English (written and spoken).

Accounting membership or progress towards qualification is an advantage.

Prior exposure to legal entity merger or restructuring projects (accounting workstream) it is an advantage.

Experience with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany governance.

Familiarity with GBS/shared services operating models and IBM or similar BPO environments.
