About the role
The role of “Business Data Lead” is part of the site deployment team and reports to the “Market lead”.
Pre deployment kick-off, the role focuses on getting the source data ready for the deployment (JDE, TDS, Optiva, MDG-s, MDG-h, etc …), may come with hands-on duties but is primarily about mobilizing business resources and coordinating the delivery of the pre-requisite activities until the deployment starts.
After deployment kick-off, the role focuses on coordinating the data activities of the “Superusers” (SUs), enabling them to perform their data tasks and ensuring they do it following best practices; this is done under the steer of the central Data Migration (DM) Wave Delivery Lead, these activities are mainly but not limited to:
- Data localisation
- Data collection
- Data enrichment
- Data construction
- Data validation
This role is middle manager level, it requires lots of coordination agilities since it sits in the middle of the site business team and is the main point of contact for the central data team. The individual must be capable of managing conflicting priorities in a challenging environment at a very fast pace.
Your responsibilities
- Work closely with the market lead on the planned activities to deliver on time, quality & budget
- Is accountable to ensure that the site business team is following the plan agreed with the central team
- Is an advocate of the central team DM methodology
- Will identify all the data sources and how its data will be sourced from
- If the data doesn’t exist in any source system or tool, is accountable to find where, how and who is going to source / manage this data
- Accountable for data preparation progress to meet the Trial & Production loads entry criteria’s (the responsibility is shared between the SUs and the Data Migration Specialists (DMSs)
- Can potentially be responsible for some data preparation tasks, meaning the individual must also be operational (Cf. “PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE” section):
- Provide input during design sessions mainly in the BCA phase (Business Change Assessment)
- Contribute to the definition of data preparation rules
- Prepare and/or construct data
- Validate / Reconcile data
- Accountable for the data validation and reconciliation process end-to end which includes:
- The identification of the business staff who will check and sign off the data
- The identification of the exhaustive list of control check that will stress the data
- The responsibility sits with the SUs
- Accountable for the management of Risks, Issues, Decisions and actions as well as the data defects together with central DM Wave delivery Lead (the responsibility sits with the SUs & the DMSs)
- Provide updates, monitor progress and report issues and risks to the central data team
- Participates to the weekly operational meetings with the wider data team (called L5 meetings), ensure active participation from the local business team(s)
- Manages the preparation of the L4 slides with the DM Wave Delivery Lead and present it to the wider group each week
- Participates to the weekly Data Collaboration Calls (DCCs) with SAP CC, BPOs, GDOs, central data team and site team and ensures that the site business team is coming prepared to make the best use of this forum which is meant to remove data preparation roadblocks (the management of these meetings sits with the DMSs)
- Supports the central team with operational and management reporting
The experience we're looking for
- Good understanding of business processes in a CPG environment
- Ability to quickly understand IT systems and processes landscape
- Ability to quickly understand how data “influences” the business processes in the current system (JDE)
- Ability to quickly create a strong network within the local business and remote Reckitt sites
- Excellent IT acumen / Extremely comfortable with IT systems overall
- Strong IT project management experience
- SAP project implementation in a global environment
- SAP navigation
- ERP Data migration experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- JDE knowledge
- ERP Data Stewardship
