About the role
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of ASEAN projects. You will work with cross-functional teams, across various functions, to ensure that projects meet business requirements, regular updates are provided, and that issues are escalated for resolution effectively. You will participate in leadership meetings to drive project decisions, such as stage-gate approvals and risks alignments. You will implement, and drive operating model governance, holding teams accountable for their deliverables and decisions made. You will also provide a single source of the truth for your project data (risks, status, resourcing, budgeting, etc.) and KPIs. You will demonstrate project management best practices and work to further improve the capability across MJN.
Your responsibilities
E2E Portfolio and Project Management
- Responsible for the successful delivery of the projects within MJN; ensuring projects are delivered on-time and in-full
- Accountable for the risk, time, budget, and resource management
- Escalates issues for resolution promptly and effectively
- Provide a single source of the truth for all project data (risks, status, resourcing, budgeting, etc.) and KPIs
- Own and develop the end-to-end (E2E) project timeline, including critical path, dependencies, successors, and milestones
- Develop, track, and manage the end-to-end project budget, including changes and reconciliation
- Support monthly governance forum preparation + regional portfolio review
Driving Decision Making Process
- Preparation of project stage gate approvals and flags, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, providing recommendations and driving data-driven decisions
- Establish and maintain active communication with x-functional stakeholders.
- Work directly with R&D, Supply Chain and Marketing to make recommendations on decisions
Metrics
- Maintains accurate information about resource, understands the impact of changes; highlights resource deficiencies and provides recommendations to close gaps.
- Ensure projects data inputs (resourcing/budget, risks, status, etc.) are accurate and compliant with PPM systems requirements. Acts as a champion to improve data governance, ensuring One Source of Truth across projects and programs.
Stage Gate Process
- Champion of the operating model and ways of working, ensuring process governance and deployment, including enforcing the discipline of stage-gate process
- Developing ways to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement of the PMO practices
- Own Stage Gate deliverables (RPG, BBCT, CIT, PMC) ensuring quality, completeness, and timeliness
- Ensure adherence to MJN governance and PMO processes + Present relevant gate documentation at governance forums
Project Tracking & Communication
- Facilitate and own core team meetings, including agendas, actions, and follow-ups
- Regularly review project timeline, risks, resources, and budget
- Produce concise one-page project status updates for stakeholders
- Define, track, and report project metrics
Team & Culture
- Champion project and program management best practices.
- Collaborates with the PMs across Nutrition to drive synergies on ways of working and best practices sharing.
The experience we're looking for
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience as a project manager leading multiple initiatives from idea to launch, additional experience in program, and portfolio management experience for consumer healthcare or FMCGs a plus.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in engineering, science, business, or finance. MBA a plus
- Excellent understanding of multiple disciplines including Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain and Finance.
- Consumer healthcare expertise highly desirable, PMP certified a plus.
- Experience with leading team(s) in nutrition and early/discovery science work a plus.
- Proven leadership with respect to business case building, stakeholder management, both in the theory, but more importantly the practice.
- Experience in working in a matrix teams organisation to establish route to market including generation of commercial, supply, regulatory and where applicable clinical strategies.
- Proven experience of managing cross functional teams; Creative and open attitude, with a mindset of delivery.
- An understanding of the R&D development process within nutrition and the key challenges and hurdles to be overcome in delivery of product to market.
- Experience/Ability to deal with ambiguity and create clarity for decision making when a diverse range of options are available.
