About the role

Supervisor storekeeper and maintenance planning is responsible for overseeing spare parts operations, managing inventory, ensuring proper storage, and maintaining readiness spare parts to fully support production machinery and utility plants for both the Powder and RTD business units. This role also involves leading a team of storekeepers to efficiently achieve organizational goals.

Your responsibilities

Supervisor II – Storekeeper / Maintenance Planning. 

  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of storekeepers to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Manage and maintain inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing spare parts.
  3. Inspect received in coming spare parts for quality and quantity, and update records accordingly.
  4. Develop and implement efficient procedures for storage and retrieval of spare parts to maximize space utilization.
  5. Manage spare parts based on their classification as critical components.
  6. Analyse maintenance history data to forecast spare part requirements and set appropriate reorder points (ROP).
  7. Utilize an inventory management system, such as CMMS or SAP software, to record the quantity, storage location, and status of spare parts.
  8. Organize storage zones by category, such as electrical components and machinery parts.
  9. Conduct forecasting and procurement planning by considering lead time, bulk ordering, and supplier management.
  10. Perform cost analysis and budget control by evaluating spare part expenses, reducing excess costs, and summarizing usage and spending to assess cost-effectiveness.
  11. Perform spare part maintenance by inspecting the condition of components that are at risk of damage, such as storing weather-sensitive parts in low-humidity environments.
  12. Coordinate with other departments to fulfil spare parts requests and ensure timely deliveries.
  13. Contact both overseas and local OEM suppliers to order spare parts and equipment.
  14. Summarize monthly expense reports and identify opportunities to optimize spare parts inventory.
  15. Train and mentor storekeeping staff to ensure they adhere to safety and operational guidelines.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

          

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with knowledge of storekeeping procedures and inventory control.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to inspection spare parts equipment for quality and quantity.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software CMMS, SAP and Microsoft office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude with the ability to problem-solve and multitask effectively.
  • Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.  
  • Good computer literacy: SAP, Microsoft Office.
  • Good command in English.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skill.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and stock management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical, mechanical equipment and other systems.
  • Minimum 3 years working in an Engineering field and spare part management with a minimum of 5 years’ working experience.
