As the role of Head Trade & Governance at Reckitt, you will lead governance, compliance, and trade optimization across enterprise processes. You will ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and adherence to global trade policies while partnering with Commercial, Finance, and Audit teams to drive process improvements and deliver actionable insights. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions. You will communicate and collaborate with senior leaders to advance compliance and efficiency initiatives. 

About the role

As the role of Head Trade & Governance at Reckitt, you will lead governance, compliance, and trade optimization across enterprise processes. You will ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and adherence to global trade policies while partnering with Commercial, Finance, and Audit teams to drive process improvements and deliver actionable insights. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions. You will communicate and collaborate with senior leaders to advance compliance and efficiency initiatives. 

Your responsibilities

  • Enforce trade compliance policies and approval standards; monitor adherence and address non-compliance.
  • Oversee contract governance and promotional documentation quality; ensure audit readiness and policy alignment.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and resolve compliance issues.
  • Lead month-end close activities for trade-related accounts, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Provide clear commentary on financial performance and ensure consistency in reporting across regions.
  • Support balance sheet governance through account reviews, root cause analysis, and forecasting of trade accruals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in trade governance processes, including approval workflows and documentation standards.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization; collaborate with Commercial teams to implement solutions.
  • Support transformation initiatives aimed at strengthening financial controls and reducing risk.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on trade governance matters.
  • Coach and develop a team of analysts; set high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Foster collaboration across Finance, Sales, and Audit functions to ensure alignment on governance priorities. 

The experience we're looking for

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Trade Finance, Governance, or related fields within CPG or similar industries. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • Proven expertise in compliance, financial governance, and month-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; experience influencing senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and manage risk in a dynamic environment.
  • People leadership experience: coaching, performance management, and building high-performing teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
