About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Analyst to join our Physical Properties Laboratory within the Quality Control team. This role supports the manufacturing of high-quality infant formula by performing routine testing and analysis of physical attributes such as viscosity, density, moisture content, particle size, and specific gravity. In addition this role also supports sensory evaluation of finished products and ingredients. This role will also aid in the preparation of samples to be tested by internal laboratories. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality, eager to learn, and committed to ensuring food safety and consistency with finished products.
Your responsibilities
- Perform physical property testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using standardized laboratory methods and instrumentation.
- Perform sensory evaluation on in process samples and finished products using previously developed in-house methods.
- Create composite samples of finished products to be tested by in house/external laboratories.
- Perform packaging quality assurance checks/verifications on samples before releasing to production.
- Follow all Good Laboratory Practices and Aseptic techniques when preparing samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as viscometers, moisture analyzers, texture analyzers, and specific gravity analyzers.
- Accurately document test results in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Assist other laboratory areas such as glassware and microscopy as needed.
- Assist in troubleshooting analytical issues and participate in root cause investigations for out-of-specification results.
- Support method validation, equipment calibration, and routine maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, R&D, and Microbiology to support product quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures precisely.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Basic understanding of aseptic technique.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with LIMS is a plus.
- Willingness to work in a regulated environment with strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
