About the role
Reports to and directly supports Quality Assurance Associate Manager will serve as the technical lead for the site, supporting production in identifying issues and implementing corrective and preventative actions within the Food Safety Management System (FSMS). This role involves leading and collaborating with various teams to establish and maintain preventive controls, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance.
Your responsibilities
- Manage and monitor site quality performance, including root cause analysis and corrective actions to ensure QMS compliance.
- Assist in investigations, root cause analysis, preventative actions, and Review non-conformance reports, CAPA, failure investigations, and audit findings to address quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and analyze metrics for EM, CAPA, and supplier performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Interface with suppliers to ensure materials meet specifications.
- Ensure compliance with batch release procedures and develop knowledge of QC testing programs.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of validation protocols, and support the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and productivity.
- Perform HACCP, GMP, and other quality and compliance audits, ensuring updates to HACCP and Food Safety Plans based on plant changes and needs.
- Drive continuous improvement on the production line through training, SOP updates, and other assigned duties.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline (science/ engineering/ food processing, etc)
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes and engage with personnel to secure information for quality issue resolution.
- Become proficient with Optiva, GLIMS and other systems
- Initial concept of HACCP/ Food Safety principles.
- PCQI Certification is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 2-4+ years’ experience /knowledge of Food Manufacturing, HACCP, FSMA regulations, Low Acid Food regulations, Infant Formula regulations, Aseptic processing and other requirements such as Kosher and Halal preferred.
- 2-4+ years working with statistical tools and problem solving.
- Must have strong computer technical skills, data analysis.
- Must be able to work and influence cross functional teams, self-motivated, design to solve problems and drive programs/teams to completion.
