About the role
As a Scientist, you will work in our analytical laboratories on an experienced team to support the analytical needs of Reckitt Nutrition. You will execute analytical methods on infant formulas, raw materials, and experimental products to generate data that is crucial to supporting the R&D innovation pipeline. We are looking for someone who is passionate about science, can make an immediate impact, and is equally eager to learn.
Your responsibilities
- Executes analytical testing and assures the completion and accuracy of written reports to meet established deadlines.: Total Protein Testing, Amino Acid Analysis, Molecular Weight Distribution Testing, SDS-PAGE, Gel-Electrophoresis, Static Headspace, and Method development and/or method optimization initiatives.
- Maintains communication with Shared Innovation Support (SIS) Manager as it relates to analyses, instrumentation status, and timelines.
- Effectively maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment in consultation with instrument vendors and key Scientists within the Analytical Sciences (AS) team.
- Effectively communicates scientific knowledge and information to technical and non-technical audiences as needed.
- Maintains detailed laboratory records according to established requirements and SOPs.
- Supports the AS department by ordering laboratory consumables, maintaining stockroom, and maintaining chemical safety data records according to a strict chemical hygiene plan.
- Support AS and Evansville Tech Center as team safety representatives as needed.
The experience we're looking for
The skills for success
- B.S. or B.A. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or other relevant science degree.
- 5+ years of experience working in an analytical laboratory.
- Adept in GLIMS database management.
- Experience with the following analytical techniques:: Liquid, Gas, and Ion Chromatography, Total Nitrogen Analyzers, and Gel Electrophoresis.
- Ability to run multiple methods simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience with analytical instrument maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially related to analytical chemistry and application in method troubleshooting.
- Organized, and excellent attention to detail. Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Adherence to all established safety guidelines and established SOPs.
