About the role
Your responsibilities
- Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the site Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including HACCP and prerequisite programs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and international standards (e.g., FDA, Codex) through coaching, governance, and oversight of quality and factory teams.
- Establish the site Quality vision, strategy, metrics, and communication framework to drive priorities, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Direct investigations of quality events and consumer complaints, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective actions, and organizational learning to prevent recurrence.
- Manage Evansville QC laboratory operations, testing strategies, documentation, and release activities for raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and stability samples.
- Partner with Manufacturing, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain to rapidly resolve non-conformities, implement quality improvements, and support operational excellence.
- Provide Quality leadership and representation for capital projects, ensuring early identification of requirements and proper quality systems for new or modified processes.
- Own site Quality budget and resource allocation, using data-driven analysis to deliver value-added business results in a fast-paced, complex environment.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, sanitation, or QA/QC environments.
- Deep knowledge of food safety principles, quality systems, and microbiology (preferred).
- Experience with quality systems and tools such as SAP, GLIMS, and Optiva.
- Proven analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and decision-making in complex environments.
- Demonstrated success in competitive, fast-changing business environments.
- Strong leadership, people development, and communication skills to drive alignment and results.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5–10%.
