About the role

The Senior Manager, Food Safety Culture is responsible for developing, leading, and sustaining a strong, enterprise-wide food safety culture.  This role champions mindset behavior, and capability improvements across the organization to ensure that food safety is deeply embedded in daily operations, decision-making, and leadership practices.  The Senior Manager partners closely with Quality, Operations, HR, R&D, Procurement, and senior leadership to drive cultural maturity, enable consistent global expectations, and ensure frontline engagement.

Your responsibilities

•    Develop and execute a multi-year global Food Safety Culture strategy aligned to corporate Quality & Food Safety priorities.
•    Define the organization’s Food Safety Culture framework, maturity model, and metrics.
•    Partner with senior leaders to embed food safety expectations into company values, leadership behaviors, and performance objectives.
•    Serve as the subject-matter expert on food safety culture science, behavioral change, and organizational psychology as it relates to food safety.
•    Strengthen site-level ownership through coaching, workshops, and capability-building initiatives.
•    Develop materials and communication campaigns that reinforce key behaviors and drive cultural consistency.
•    Design and deliver food safety culture training, learning pathways, and behavioral tools for all levels-from frontline to executives.
•    Create recognition and incentive programs to celebrate best practices and promote a positive food safety mindset.
•    Lead recurring culture maturity assessments across manufacturing sites, R&D, and supply chain partners.
•    Develop KPI dashboards and reporting mechanisms to measure mindset, behavior, and performance outcomes.
•    Analyze trends and partner with sites to close culture gaps through targeted action plans.
•    Benchmark internally and externally to ensure the organization maintains industry-leading culture standards.
•    Collaborate with Quality Teams, Operations, R&D, Procurement, HR, Learning & Development, and Communications teams.
•    Support integration of food safety culture expectations into onboarding, leadership development, and operations excellence programs.
•    Engage with suppliers, co-manufacturers, and external partners to ensure alignment with the company’s food safety culture expectations.
•    Support root-cause analysis and incident reviews with culture insights related to behavior, training, and environmental factors.
•    Ensure compliance with global food safety standards

The experience we're looking for

•    Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality, Behavioral Science, Organizational Development, or related field.
•    Master’s degree in Food Safety, Organizational Psychology, or related field, preferred.
•    8+ years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or Operational Excellence in the food or consumer goods industry.
•    Proven experience leading large cultural, behavioral, or change-management initiatives.
•    Strong knowledge food safety culture expectations.
•    Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership presence.
•    Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, including executives and frontline employees.
•    Certification in change management or leadership development, preferred.
•    Experience in global roles with multi-site manufacturing environments, preferred.
•    Strong project management and data-driven decision-making skills, preferred.

Salary Range

USD $140,000.00 -  $210,000.00

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
