About the role

The Consumer Safety function within Reckitt has the responsibility to ensure consumers’ safety for all of Reckitt’s products. It ensures the application of human and environmental risk assessment and the communication of issues that may impact consumer safety or regulatory toxicology across the Reckitt business.  
It delivers this through the mitigation of human harm & environmental safety risks through the safety and toxicological review of ingredients, product, packaging and articles across the product lifecycle. Our safety assessments rely on high quality input regarding our raw materials, formulations and packaging components.
The PLM programme is transforming the systems and processes we use to create, manage and govern product relevant information across the product lifecycle.  PLM is purposed to bring together R&D, procurement, supply and Marketing to drive one consistent transparent approach through the implementation of PLM

 

Role Purpose
•    The RAS Consumer Safety, Associate PLM role is purposed to provide resource and technical support as part of the Consumer Safety function for deliverables to the PLM program.
•    Specifications and formulation approval are at the heart of PLM and key to its success. Consumer Safety will be responsible for reviews and approvals at the raw material, formulation and supplier level. It will also have a key role in driving high quality standards for our data with setting specification limits where appropriate. 
•    You will be helping drive the simplification of our data and processes to deliver a positive change in the way in which R&D develops and delivers new products to market. 
•    This role will include supporting the wider Consumer Safety functions in RAS in all aspects of technical review and migration of raw material, product and supplier documentation. The establishment of data quality standards and revision processes as part of the PLM programme.

Your responsibilities

Responsibilities
•    Provide Consumer Safety input into raw material (RM) and product specifications. 
•    Collate, review, and validate raw material toxicological and safety data (e.g. Supplier SDS, RMQ). 
•    Support data migration activities for substances, raw material and formulation safety information. 
•    Support Consumer Safety Business Process Leaders and cross functional representatives to define processes and data quality standards and maintain accordingly.  
•    Ensure raw material and product specification updates all follow agreed processes and meets the respective documentation quality requirements. 
•    Identify and remove duplicate data to improve overall specification data quality. 
•    Conduct technical analysis of supplier raw material data and recommend remediation or continuous improvement actions. 
•    Using your knowledge of Safety, you will support testing and validation activities of the new PLM solution.
•    Help deliver end user training and support PLM system queries following roll out. 
•    Ensure timely, high quality safety outputs including but not limited to PSDS, Impact Assessments, initial assessments, classification and labelling of (complex) mixtures, responding to questions on PSDS content, all in line with company standards. 
•    Support ongoing data governance and specification maintenance activities.

The experience we're looking for

Skills / Experience

•    Minimum of 1st Degree in a relevant technical discipline, higher degree preferred. 
•    3+ years industry experience, FMCG preferred, in Hazard Communications specifically the authoring of PSDS and the use of product safety / regulatory data systems 
•    Knowledge of product data governance, lifecycle processes, and cross functional ways of working. 
•    Understanding of the product lifecycle, interfaces across R&D, consumer safety and supply, and FMCG regulatory requirements. 
•    Strong planning, organisational, problem solving, and self management skills. 
•    Effective communicator with strong influencing and interpersonal skills, able to work across cultures, teams, senior stakeholders, and external partners. 
•    Experience with Reckitt systems (e.g., TDS, Cara, Intelligent Authoring) and supporting system project delivery preferred. 
•    Ability to work to deadlines in a global, remote team environment. 
•    High IT literacy, including MS Office and Power BI. 
•    Able to prioritise and execute tasks under pressure.
