About the role
The role is responsible for execution of strategies and buying activities in specific portfolio.
This role is to implement and continually improve Procurement strategies, tools and techniques in order to maximise the company’s results such as top and bottom-line growth and net working capital reduction.
Buying activities including tendering portfolio, negotiations with suppliers and recommendation of business allocation.
Accountable for PPV and other financial measures (Squeeze, NWC) generated by indicated portfolio within geographical responsibility.
The role will work in partnership with a highly successful and dynamic business and shape the Procurement strategy of a group of raw materials with close involvement with the Supply function, Regulatory, Research & Development, Finance and Marketing.
Your responsibilities
Implements and recommends (depending on spend) the strategy, sourcing and contracting of the commodity in order to achieve adequate supplier base that will generate competitive advantage for the operations across the world while fitting to Regional needs.
Coaches and leads the Buyers/Junior Buyers in developing strategies that will be in line with Company’s strategy while fitting to local needs.
Accountable for continuously improving supplier performance including the service and quality.
Provide contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply of his/her portfolio of materials.
Accountable for Quality and Service from managed suppliers. Drive Quality and Service improvement strategies.
Accountable to meet purchasing budget assumptions for the materials under his/her responsibilities.
Closely follow commodity feedstock information and develops an in-depth understanding of market dynamics to proactively take actions on timing and extension of sourcing process and contracts.
Develops a cross functional relationship with R&D and Marketing to understand innovation needs. Translate the needs into business opportunities to a world-class supplier base in order to drive innovation and speed to market.
Keep a sound relationship with suppliers at management levels. Motivate suppliers to treat the company as preferred customer in presenting innovation and/or cost/efficiency projects.
Lead negotiations and actively participate in negotiations targeting to achieve continuous GM expansion and NWC improvement within the commodity.
Work closely with the Regional/Local and Factory Supply organisations in understanding needs, objectives and priorities to improve cost, service and quality of materials.
Design, verify and amend Global contracts in conjunction with Legal Dept. Special attention to be dedicated to protecting intellectual property, minimise liabilities, exclusivity period of innovation, ensure availability and cost improvement.
Continuously deliver Gross Margin improvement through COGS optimisation, driving special programs such as X-trim, Squeeze, e-procurement, EROS and exotic sourcing.
Acts as the primary RB contact for the supplier on Regional/Local level. Eventually representing RB externally, at industry events and conventions.

Negotiation • Recognised expert and coach on all aspects of negotiation including planning, conflict and commercial issues
• Guides and leads negotiations with the appropriate balance of power and diplomacy
• Undertakes delicate and complicated contractual and business negotiations of high value and / or spanning multiple years
Process Sequence & Sourcing • Recognised expert on all aspects of procurement tools and sourcing, drives improvement and innovation in their application and use
• Challenges others to drive the procurement sequence in their portfolio in order to structure and deliver improved results
• Coaches and guides others in the systematic use of procurement tools and processes
Supply Base Management • Challenges and supports others to deliver a flexible supply base to meet tactical and strategic business needs
• Recognised expert on all aspects of supplier selection and management
• Challenges key suppliers consistently to develop improvement plans
