About the role
The role of the R&D Officer is to support the brand owners in assigned projects under R&D Innovation, Harpic/Lysol. Based within the R&D structure the role is positioned to support development and help in bringing compliance from both quality and regulatory aspects to home care brands for SOA and global markets.
The role is based out of Gurgaon, India within the R&D facility for HyHo.
The role reports to R&D Associate who in turn reports to the R&D Sr. Manager.
Your responsibilities
Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques for working at the bench, understanding or interest in chemistry, hydrocarbon solvent, surfactant, or related science.
Ability to interpret results from lab tests, conduct performance studies and analyse/evaluate competitive products.
Maintain supplies inventory and order items when needed.
Utilize formulation and technical skills to develop and test new products/existing products, develop technologies that benefits the consumers and address relevant consumer needs in support of brand initiatives.
Read, understand, and apply relevant SOP / ISO protocols with regards to data generation for product registration for submission to local Regulatory authorities. Proper operation, standardization & maintenance of lab equipment. Maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks, following Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements
Incorporate Category Quality requirements into plans, ensuring compliance within the team.
Enforce quality mind by ‘Right first time’ practice for working in area by following documented procedures & follow good documentation practice.
Be aware, accountable for safety, health & environment in workplace all time to ensure accident free & good environment/area of working.
The experience we're looking for
Master’s degree in science/ engineering/pharmacy
1-2 years of experience in a similar role, relevant experience in FMCG is preferred.
• Development of personal care formulations by considering upcoming surfactants & their blends.
• Development of prototypes as per benchmark given by customer (B2C companies).
• Scale up the lab-scale batches of shampoo bar to pilot plant batches. Collaboration with 3rd party manufacturing facility for pilot plant batches.
• Surfactant Analysis study - Anionic Activity, CMC, Surface Tension, Zein Value, Sulphate contain & Chloride contain, Cationic contain, Foam analysis, Rinsability Study, Perform WaterHardness Analysis and assess Foamability in Hard Water, Skin cleaning concentrations, Sensory Evaluation of formulations, Colour protection Analysis for hair.

• Oral communication skills to effectively provide feedback to cross-functional project teams or immediate supervisor.
• Written communication skills for accurate data entry and concise documentation
