Research & Development
We do the right thing, always, by ensuring we act with responsibility and integrity, by complying with regulatory legislation across the globe, whilst ensuring our products are safe for our consumers and are to the highest quality.
The size of our organisation means you'll have the opportunity to learn and work in different functions within R&D, giving you exposure to different disciplines, teams and environments. You will also have access to our Research and Development Academy, designed to develop our team and allow you to grow in our great organisation.
About the role
As an International Process Engineer Manager, you will take end‑to‑end ownership of engineering projects that bring new products from concept to full‑scale manufacturing.
This is a hands‑on, engineering‑led role, focused on pilot plant development, scale‑up, and industrialisation - not theoretical research. You will work closely with R&D, Supply, Marketing, and external partners to ensure robust, efficient, and scalable processes for globally recognised consumer brands.
Your responsibilities
- Take end‑to‑end ownership of process and engineering projects, from early concept through pilot development, scale‑up, industrialisation, and production start‑up.
- Lead technical decision‑making across process design, equipment selection, and manufacturing readiness, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and fit for purpose.
- Deliver capital investment and industrialisation projects, including supplier selection, factory acceptance, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with R&D, Supply Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Procurement, Quality, and external partners to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Support manufacturing sites during start‑up and post‑launch phases to stabilise processes and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all activities meet health, safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to cross‑functional project teams and indirect reports within a global, matrix organisation.
- Actively share engineering knowledge and best practices across teams to strengthen overall technical capability.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree in Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience leading complex engineering or process development projects within manufacturing, FMCG, R&D, or a comparable industrial environment.
- Demonstrated accountability for delivering projects from concept through industrialisation, with clear ownership of technical decisions and outcomes.
- Strong background in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or production‑related roles, with hands‑on exposure to scale‑up and plant environments.
- Experience working with external suppliers, converters, equipment vendors, or technology partners.
- Confidence operating in international, cross‑functional, and matrix teams.
- Flexible to travel internationally and support project delivery on site.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral in English. German language is nice to have.
- Solid presentation skills.
- Microsoft Office (intermediate level), knowledge on MS Project and CAD would be an added advantage.
The skills for success
- Strong engineering judgement and structured problem‑solving.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical manufacturing solutions.
- Confident stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Clear communication in English, written and spoken.
- Project leadership mindset with a high level of ownership.
- Adaptability and willingness to travel internationally.
- Curiosity, resilience, and a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach.
