About the role

As a R&D Research Scientist within Reckitt’s Global Development Team, you will play a key role in managing and delivering projects with a high degree of technical complexity, collaborating closely with both technical and business stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will lead and execute development activities for both new products and improvements to existing formulations, ensuring alignment with consumer needs, business objectives, and the highest standards of quality and safety.

Success in this role requires strong leadership capabilities, the ability to develop others, and a solid foundation of technical expertise.

Your responsibilities

  • Translate consumer insights and business needs into technical solutions, applying a strong understanding of product strategy, operating models, and cost structures
  • Deliver assigned projects and activities for new product development and enhancement of existing formulations in line with Innovation Development Briefs, managing end-to-end execution
  • Design and drive formulation development, managing laboratory work plans and contributing to next-generation innovation while solving complex technical challenges
  • Ensure all development activities comply with regulatory, HSE, and global/local quality standards, adhering to laboratory best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply, and regional R&D teams to ensure alignment, smooth scale-up, and successful market launches
  • Act as a technical leader, supervising laboratory activities while coaching and developing team members to build a high-performance culture

The experience we're looking for

  • Master’s degree in chemistry
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the research & development of an FMCG company
  • Good project management skills that can be applied in a technology delivery environment and a proven track record of results
  • Technical expertise and curiosity with the ability to devolp (turning functioning prototypes into finished products/systems/methods) 
  • Ability to consider technology requirements of production during product development
  • Experience of working with factories (up-scaling) and external partner
  • Experience with Quality Management System related to product development
  • Fluent in English is a must; Basic German desired, willingness to learn German
  • Flexible to travel internationally and for extended periods of time to oversee and support project delivery on site
